Their signature Portside big breakfast is probably one of the best big breakfast I ever had. Every single element on there are perfectly cooked, the tomato has that natural acidity to balance the saltiness from the generously cut bacon, the mushrooms is in harmony with the bratwurst sausages and caramelised onions. The sourdough is perfectly baked in company with two free range eggs. This is a whole new level of the traditional big kiwi breakfast. Well done PortSide Bistro & Bar. I will certainly be back for more!

Omg I've lived in NZ a few months now and this is one of the best places I've ever eaten. We came in between the Fish N Chips hours on Friday unfortunately but got a beautiful snack spread with flatbread and tea. They were very accommodating of my dietary restrictions too. If you are coming through this is a wonderful place to stop!

I think this has to be the best place for breakfast. The serving us was experienced and was single handedly serving 4 tables at once calmly. The breakfast was enough for me and the quality was very good. Salmon and eggs were very tasty and hash-brown is homemade. I loved it. Highly Recommended.

Food is top notch from probably the best chef and kitchen staff in Westport, very polite waiter staff and head of house was amazing help ,very accommodating to your dietary needs .if you need or want something or can't eat certain food just ask, they're more than happy to do it for you. Try any of their bistro burgers or pastas or fish n chips or their freshly cooked calamari ,beautifully prepare and presented. if you are an eater of pork this place is for you ,gorgeous satays, mouth watering steaks and every salad you can imagine. The Range of different desserts will satisfy you ,try the brulee' or sorbet or all of it , it's that good 😊 . They also have a vast range of beers, wines and top shelf spirits.I have yet to try their breakfast menu, but will in the near future.if you ever come to Westport I highly recommend that you visit , Portside Bistro and Bar, Thank you Emma and Matt n Staff well worth...

Very overpriced for what you get, I only wanted a small snack so thought it might be easier to get a kids portion but sadly no they don't allow that, even though I'm still paying for the size of portion ordered! I was told they could do a half portion but the fish would only be pan fried, didn't offer any with batter, which was really odd, they ended up bringing me a normal portion anyway so had to pay $28 for 2 pieces of terrible fish and a small portion of ok fries, I could smell the fish before it was even brought to the table which is a sign how old it was. Ended up paying $78 for a chicken sandwich, a terrible fish main, kids meal and 3 lemon lime and bitters. Would not recommend this...

We were able to get a table without waiting after having just arrived in Westport. We chose it as the reviews looked good. It was fairly early. Staff were efficient but not really friendly. I felt as if we were somehow inconveniencing them by being there. My husband’s meal was quite nice but mine was not good and they were both overpriced. I had the pork belly with a pumpkin and apple sort of coleslaw. Unfortunately, the pork was tough and tasteless and there was no sauce. It mentioned a jus but there was very little of it and it was hiding under the mostly cabbage salad. The apples were neither cooked nor raw and added nothing. I was very disappointed. We probably...
