The meal was great. The service we had from the young lady when we first walked in was top-notch. we got our our dinner, which was quick service. One of the meals we found a bone in it when we told the lady she just said sorry and walked away. we got asked if we wanted dessert but was given no menus, and our plates still hadn't been removed when dessert arrived she had no room to put it on table then took some of the plates but never returned the spoon I got to eat my dessert was like a serving spoon it was way to big then when my son got his he didn't even get a spoon pretty bad service from the other waitress that was there. Overall, nice meal just let down by the service of one team member I would say the owner of the place. Maybe you need to take a leaf out of your workers book on...

We ordered a chicken burger and beef burger takeaway. Chicken burger was amazing and would get again. Unfortunately the beef was cold and raw. We rung up to let them know and the man on the phone was apologetic and said they never get complaints. He then said that the chef would call us back. This never happened. We would have preferred that they just offered to recook the burger, we would have come back to pick it up. Upset that we paid for an inedible meal and felt let down by the follow up service.

Hi spent a night in Opunake which was great as had a great choice of freedom camping places if you are self contained. We decided to visit the pub which was the Surf Inn in main street and met a lovely bar attendant Wendy who was really welcoming. The other clientele were so happy and friendly and great to see such a family atmosphere. Decided to get a small starter before we walked back to the camper, the menu was really great for a small hometown pub. We had the seafood basket and can highly recommend it, crumbed mussells yum and it was lovely fresh battered fish. So give it a try and go to these small outer towns...
