Batch Winery — Restaurant in Waiheke

Unfortunately I had a very poor experience at the Batch and I am never one to usually complain.

I and my partner arrived at 1pm and we booked a table for two for our anniversary, and were told right up by the manager that we were going to be grouped with 10 other people at the same table we barely even know! we already paid for our 3 course meals and it was expensive, of course..it was sensible, that we expected a top notch service. So, we refused, and the manager told us that it was the only option he had, sorry it wasn't good enough, at least he should have said to us....if we waited another 20 minutes, he could try to get a table of 2 for us. After we complained and argued, finally they managed to get a table of two for me and my partner, we waited for 20 minutes and none of the staffs even came to our table to take our order in, we had to hunt  a waiter to take our order.

Finally our entrée order arrived after a hour of waiting, and we had our dessert 15 minutes before the shuttle arrived to take us back to the ferry station, so in total it was 3 hours from the time we arrived until they served us our desert. The restaurant wasn't at full capacity but seemed to be seriously struggling to cope. The service was terribly disappointing and the food was average,  we were never approached by staff throughout our meal.

The view from the restaurant is stunning, and it has plenty outdoor seating area. But the service is terrible, I will never be going back and wouldn't recommend...

A Perfect Day at Batch Winery – An Unforgettable Experience!

From the moment I arrived at Batch Winery , I knew I was in for something special—but I wasn’t prepared for just how extraordinary the experience would be. Nestled atop rolling hills with breathtaking panoramic views, this winery feels like a dream. The landscape stretches endlessly, blending vineyards with ocean vistas in a way that makes you stop and simply breathe it all in.

And then there was Jack. If there were an award for the most exceptional waiter, he’d win it every time. Jack didn’t just serve; he elevated the experience with his warmth, knowledge, and effortless charm. Every recommendation was spot-on, and his passion for the food and the local flavors was evident in every interaction.

And now, let’s talk about the bread. I don’t say this lightly—it was the most incredible bread I have ever had in my life. Perfectly crisp on the outside, warm and impossibly soft on the inside, with flavors so rich and deep they left me speechless. If heaven had a bakery, this would be it.

This wasn’t just a meal. It was one of the loveliest days I have ever had. Batch Winery is more than a place—it’s an experience, a memory, a moment of pure bliss that lingers long after you leave. If you ever have the chance to go, don’t think twice.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Perfection...

Was here for a 30th birthday celebration over the weekend with a sizable group which was booked in at the winery advance. Ordered the "winter green salad" as was wanting something fairly lite for lunch. Being called a "winter" green salad, I was expecting perhaps some broccoli, maybe some kale etc, but was literally served a bowl of lettuce. There was no other vegetables in the "salad", just lettuce, like they had emptied a bag of washed lettuce leaves from the supermarket into a bowl and threw on some olive oil, for $12!! When we queried the 'winter greens' with the waiter, he promptly pointed out that it didn't read "greenS" (plural), but rather, just "green" (singular), so technically it didn't have to include more than one ingredient. Absolutely appalling! Please look up the definition of salad, you will find it says a mixture of various raw vegetables, not just one. Along with that, several things on the menu were not available, most the people at our table had to order something they didn't really fancy because their preferred option wasnt available. Two people were served the wrong thing and then had to wait for a long time for their correct meal to be brought back out, meanwhile everyone else had finished eating.
