Had the best experience with Lance! Multiple wine-o’s across the island recommended Jurassic and we were not disappointed. Lance has a super dry sense of humor which I think explains some of the negative reviews here. That said, his humor aligned perfectly with ours and we learned the most here than any other winery visited across the US/Italy/France. We bought wine directly from him (saves you from paying the tasting fee) and then ordered a case of his wine to ship home later. #jurassiccellarwineclub2025 PS don’t be afraid to ring the bell HARD

We visited a few other wineries and the wine tasted like it was the same or a similar variation of what we had tasted previously. We decided to hit Jurassic Ridge just before leaving the island and were pleasantly surprised by the tasting. The wines were unlike any of the others and we had to take a bottle with us. We learned about “slow wine” and how its made which was very interesting, this made it easy to understand why the flavor was so much better than the other wines we sampled at different wineries.

We had a great tasting with Lance as part of an organized tour (Waivino). His dry wit is only outmatched by his knowledge of winemaking. It was really interesting to hear about Lance’s method of making natural wines and his approach to aging wines until he thinks they are approaching the appropriate maturity rather than merely being drinkable. If you have an opportunity to purchase any of his 2010 vintage wines, you will not be disappointed (we had the 2010 cab franc).

Our tasting session started off well. We were greeted and welcomed, and given the information about the wine tasting, costs etc. It's a very reasonable price: $20 per person for 8 wines, which is incredible. We were given our tasters in a timely manner, with good information about them. However after our 4th wine, a group of 10 turned up, and we were completely forgotten! At one point after about 30 mins we went up to the owner with the intention of asking to carry on our tasting session, but we struggled to get his attention. My friend then said to him we need to leave as we had a booking elsewhere, and he quickly organised our last tasters. We honestly felt like leaving before finishing our tasting as we felt very neglected. Even when we asked to pay, he made us wait so that he could top up the other groups' wines! Such a shame because it started off so well and we were...

So funny... I was with the person who just left a 1 star review and couldn't both agree and disagree more. So here's the deal... it's a one man show and he is all about making amazing wine without any of the extra cheats used by the bigger wine manufacturers. To echo the one star review, no he doesn't care about your money or what you like. He makes what he loves to drink and if you also like it then great. If not don't buy it. He is opinionated and well educated and will tell you a lot about his wine and wines in general. It was like no other vinyard but was also my favorite stop.

I would say if you're not into being told about wine by a summer intern that's there for the season and want to hear about wine history and the wine you're drinking from the guy who not only planted every vine in the vineyard but also makes all the wine, this is an...

I have procrastinated for a few days over writing this review. I think objectivity is essential. The difference between a terrible and a poor rating is very fine. Ultimately, I have opted for a Poor (2-star rating). After all, the location and wine were the saviours.

I have read other reviews regarding the poor service, and I have to concur. The location is an absolute dream, being next to the Mudbrick vineyard. However, the manner of the server, who said he was the owner, is appalling. The consistency of the poor reviews about customer service means that there is no smoke without fire.

It was excruciating to hear him berate and then act condescendingly towards customers. His behaviour was akin to watching a cringe-inducing comedy.

Would I go again? No. It's a shame because it could...
