The thing that really stood out for me were the 'seasonal vegetables' that came straight from the freezer.
Our $20 fried chicken entree was a skinny chicken breast cut like katsu chicken on top of a heap of coleslaw.
Our mains arrived while we were still eating our entree. If your food isn't going to arrive in servings, don't call it an entree, call it a bar snack.
The steak was underwhelming. The whole main was underseasoned. The salt & pepper on the table were marked incorrectly. The wine jus tasted worse than a gravey packet. Somehow they made garlic mashed potatoes flavorless. It was actually impressive.
The drinks were surprisingly inexpensive compared to the food pricing. We left there with a $111 bill. I was actually in shock. I've left fine dining paying less and feeling full.
The atmosphere was nothing to write home about. Just a pub. But you're trying to be something you're not. If you're going to serve food from a freezer, you shouldn't be allowed to charge such prices.
After reading some of the other reviews, your response often seems 'you should have said something at your meal check'. I can tell you. We didn't get a meal check. We didn't see a staff at our table after they dropped our mains.
My highlights were being greeted at the door & being seated at a nice table and then walking out the door to buy food at the lovely pizza place down the road. Can you please let me save you? Don't make the same mistake me and others have made. Go get some pizza a few doors down and save your night. Oh, we also enjoyed laughing about the comical experience the whole walk home. Thanks...
Read moreTo compete with another local restaurant, One3One matched a $20 Friday night burger and beer deal, but they made it for Thursday night instead and called it the burger and beverage deal, a nice move which I'll touch on later. We've tried both restaurants on these deals and both were thankfully not too busy on the nights we dined, so service was relatively quick.
I have to say One3One just did it better and their burgers on offer were of the gourmet type with 4 options available whereas the other restaurant had only 2, big win there. They also had more flexibility in the choice of beverage, making provisions for non-drinkers and families, so our 11 year old could share in the delights too. The atmosphere and decor at One3One is also a step up so we will be dining there again.
Overall, I'm very pleased with the value and service from One3One as I have been every time we've dined there. It's not a fancy 5 star big city restaurant, it's just a great place to go for a beverage and/or a good feed in a small town farming community. Certainly...
Read moreMy wife and i generally enjoy going out to one3one but last night kept getting worse and worse. We decided to bring friends along one of which had to ask a waitress if he was going to get served or if he needed to go up to the bar to order a drink whilst waiting for our meals, he was told he would be served... excellent... (i think they forgot about us). 5 minutes later went to the bar placed our orders and returned to the table. After waiting a long time and finishing our meals the drinks finally arrived. Ok your busy fair enough. Lets order dessert. Only 3 out of 4 desserts came out (at this point my wife is not a happy camper), we were told after all 3 desserts were finished that the 4th went to the wrong table resulting in my wife missing out as she is officially over it. The steaks were good but for the price we paid to have a meal out to many...
