We used to not eat in a cafe in a fuel station coz it’s either ‘reheated’ food style or just okay. But we were proven so wrong when we finally gave in to try this cafe. The ambience is warm and lovely but the food and coffee is superbly outstanding! A lot of choices in the cabinet food but the hot menu is highly recommended! We tried the Industries breakfast and it’s really a big yummy breakfast or brunch. I also love the Truffle Polenta so surprisingly delish! The poach eggs are done so lovely good! This cafe serves way much better than the buffet breakfast we had in Hilton Taupō. We also rave the coffee they serve here double thumbs up! (we’re particular with our coffee coz we make our own espresso coffee at home freshly roasted every week) Kudos to the barista and kitchen staff! Very well done!!! We are one of the biggest fan!

This is the third time we have visited this place on our way to Napier. Amazing food , quick service , and located near the SH1 intersection roundabout, along with a few other shops and a gas station. This time, we tried the Fried chicken burger (which was darn amazing), and the Croque Monsieur (which was all right). Banana smoothie comes with honey and ice cream, which makes it amazing. Portions are generous sized, but could have kept it a tad more affordable. Felt the pinch, even coming from Auckland ;-) They have got an option of outdoor seating which is good. I'm definitely going to try the nachos, and the pulled pork burger, the next time I'm there. Cheers !!

Industrie Kitchen & Café is a perfect stop just off the highway 🛣 — ideal if you're on a long trip and need a coffee break. Their coffee hits the spot every time, and the place is always buzzing (a good sign!). The staff are super friendly — they call me “dear” and “love,” which is kinda cute. There’s a lovely lady with green eyes and braided hair who’s always around to help, even giving you road updates if you’re heading towards Desert Road. The menu is huge, so if you're indecisive like me, just go for the carrot cake — honestly one of the best I’ve had. It's definitely worth pulling over for!

5.5 bare pass out of 10. Dear$. lacking depth of flavor. some 'service issues' total failure for one of our group is discussed later in review.

Good bread does not a fine eatery make.

Sammies are good not great- lacking meat at this price point in our experience- toasties 'barely' up to temperature , LONGER and higher temp required for TEXTURE, though fillings are tasty and aforementioned freshly baked is a high standard.

Shashshuka big disappointment for 25 bucks. 'meh' sauce unincorporated + underdone+ boring big, 2 eggs 'over' cooked not in sauce? poached and 'assembled'?, so a very average performance- tiny bacon bits? and two thick pieces of toast = a boring too dear poor effort on this renowned n african dish, 2.0 and a flop on yelpmeter.

beverages better than average - barista made albeit pricy.

French style baking okay - meh- again pricy for what they are- plus is lotsa butter in prep - bakery next door- fresh stuff on the clumsy side?

abject failure- some language misunderstanding issues, one of our group ASKED a question about dish she was about to order and got wrong feedback = staff's language comprehension lacking / she answered anyway? we got bad information, and ingredients we didn't WANT in a dish we didn't like = waste and dissatisfaction on part of diner who now says 'meh' why did we come here? what's the point of ASKING BEFORE u order- only to receive exact opposite GOODS u are paying high$ for?

lotsa free parking- clean W-C's- staff universally 'friendly', though 'comprehension' issues spoiled our experience as mentioned.

location location location- Positioned perfectly for stopping on cross country drive at BIG junction makes it a 'go to' place when comparing to fast food joints in neighborhood who offer LESS than zero in quality / price- truly 'no go zones' like sbway are truly substandard, so BY DEFAULT. industrie kitch is default setting innit -

even with two failures on our recent visits, Industrie Kitch /cafe earns a bare pass and C-minus in the old money...

We don't wish to drive to cafe replete, in TOWN where they do it right, but overzealous overreaching traffic wardens may issue infringement notices in the hundreds$, (yes they are worse than that) killing central TAUPO and 'off limits'. a pity... back in the day twas such a...

Hi. Cafe is very disgusting. Walls are dirty all through the kitchen, outside chiller and freezer is never defrosted or cleaned and the floor is black. Behind equipment, dough mixers etc are extremely dirty with black grease, old dough and flour not cleaned for months. Staff here are extremely rude, no smiles or anything. Coffee is just foul. Not good at all. The atmosphere is very small and cluttered with plenty of flies during the summer months. The food is bland, the chefs are from India, the owners are indian, serving western food that is so bland with no seasoning and extremely cheap ingredients that you can get from the park n save supermarket. Truffle chips are not genuine, made with truffle salt and no truffle. Croissants are brought in boxes, frozen and reheated in the oven and sold over the counter at high prices as if they make from scratch. The chefs here are not chefs, nor are they cooks. Trust me. They are just bush cooks who give my profession a bad name. Absolutely disgusting. DO NOT...

Was recommended this place by word of mouth as it allows you to stop for lunch without having to drive into Taupō proper - you can remain on the bypass.

There was a line as it was summer holidays; took about 15 minutes to get to the counter. There were a number of options catering to dietary requirements including vegetarian and gluten free.

I had a scrambled egg croissant which was quite disappointing as it was freezing cold in the center despite having been toasted. I also had a cheese scone which was decent and cheesy though would've been better with some more spices.

My partner had a chicken and avocado roll and she wasn't given the option to have it toasted. So despite dining in, it arrived to our table cold and still wrapped in cling film (the table next to ours had the same thing arrive toasted, on a plate and with a side salad).

Not a bad place given the location, but overall a bit disappointing - would recommend going somewhere in...
