Would genuinely be surprised if I ever have a worse customer service experience in my lifetime lol.

Food took one hour to come out and when it did, completely wrong plate. Then had the staff give some weird bunch of reasons as to why they changed our food with no genuine understanding of why we were unhappy.

Im going to try sum up the situation but it was honestly wildly strange and illogical, its difficult to grasp.

Never have I ever been served a plate of tomato penne with one bean ($24), as the waitress puts it down says "heres your fettuccini alfredo".

When we tried to tell her thats not what we asked for when we ordered the menu item "vegan fettuccini alfredo", she told us people ask for that but actually mean tomato penne- so thats what they serve them... without even mentioning they changed it to us?

We simply tried to say she should have communicated with us before changing our food.

We were met with a barrage of excuses, and also blame.

Person I was with asked for a discount and she reluctantly gave 15% off.

Whole thing not a good time/waste of time, will never go back.

Really tried to be as polite as possible through the whole thing but honestly shocked with the logic and unwilling convo on...

After a meeting and feeling hungry I hunted down a place to get a decent meal in Te Awamutu and thankfully came upon this place. Walked in to a warm, cosy environment with funky music playing and a fire blissfully dancing along. Ordered at the bar where two lovely young servers were ready to help and assist me. Ordered a steak meal with a side of mushrooms and a good ol pint of Heiny. Meal came out quickly. It was plated simply but the flavour was fantastic, the star of the meal was definitely that beautifully well cooked medium rare piece of meat. I enjoyed every mouthful and the side of mushrooms went superbly well with my meal. After nearly licking the plate clean I had no intention of getting dessert but a guy I'm assuming is the manger swiftly came to my table to offer a dessert menu so I just had to taste what they had to offer. I ordered the Apple and rhubarb crumble which was devine! Although I would have appreciated a bit more crumble. After my meal I thanked the staff. My evening was complete and I left a very happy man. Totally recommend this place! Te Awamutu you are lucky to have this fine establishment in your midst....

Ok so we just went there for our date night to listen to some music and have a meal..normally I would give them 4 or 5 stars because it's usually really good. Started well they made my wife a good mojito which is hard to find. We ordered a rib special and my Wife likes her vegetables so she got the the Scotch fillet. Steak was beautiful however the Mashed potato and veg was stone cold.we got the waitress (who was really nice)and she said she would get more.Problem was that by the time it came minus mash her steak was cold.My wife was understandably upset by now and as I had eaten my meal we decided to leave. She went to pay the bill and was going to get charged full price, she objected to this and the manager was called. He became argumentative and stated that they had served lots of meals and no else had complained and that she had eaten the meal..she hadn't..a few mouthfulls of veg and half a steak. He eventually gave a discount on her meal and said that she should have sent the whole meal back..no apologies at all. As a former Chef I can say that his behavior as a so called Manager was,out of line..and they have now lost us...

We were passing through on our way back to Taranaki and both felt like eggs bene. We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door and water was brought straight to our table. We ordered the Eggs Florentine which is very similar to eggs bene. I had fried chicken and my partner had bacon with his. Our plates were delivered to our table within 15 minutes and they were absolutely devine. The waitress asked how our meals were and we were back on the road in no time. I love the signed whisky bottles around the pub. I asked the barman who signs them and he said just random people who take the last shot. Pretty cool. Will definitely return to eat and drink whisky!

The service is friendly and respectful. There is one bathroom -which is a little lower in cleanliness. There is a couple of spiders that hang above the toilet. All of the food looked stunning coming out, including the eggs benedict with buttermilk chicken, but as it turns out that's not my cup of tea. The hollandaise sauce was more like butter compared to an actual hollandaise sauce. The decor is pretty cool. It's filled with signed Jameson Irish Whiskey bottles all around the room. There is also old pictures of TA back from the 1900.
