Plimmerton Taj — Restaurant in Wellington

Was pretty quiet and awkward until other people came along. Server got our order wrong a couple times. We initially thought he was new, not sure. There was 6 of us, we ordered some shared platters which were good. Then ordered naan and 4 curries. The curries came in cute little bowls, little being the keyword, so we waited for our rice's separately... 2 rice plates. The size of a small Uncle Ben's packet, kinda assume it was. 4 curries, 6 people, 2 rice plates??? We thought he was coming back, but he didn't. He then brought the naan, 2 baskets, 4 pieces each, we order 3 baskets. We made it work coz it was the end of the day and we were all tired but also wasn't sure if he would understand as though he was trying, did not understand what we were asking when ordering drinks and we had to point out a corona on the menu. A corona. It was super messy service overall. Won't go back. 2 stars coz the food tasted good but NOT...

I was very disappointed with an online order to be delivered that I had paid close to $50 for. . It was devlivered 1 hr ahead of when i requested it. When I complained about it I was told it would be replaced however the man arrived wiht no new order. He then told me I could heat it in the microwave as that's what he did. I asked for it to be replaced, when it was re-delivered the nann bread was barely warm, as was the rcie and dishes. I would have to question if they had not been merely put in the mircowave. I will not reorder with Plimmerton Taj and would not recommened...

Ok, the good…the food is great. We love the curries from the Plimmerton Taj and they’re hard to beat taste wise. Portion size is pretty standard. Garlic naan is epic.

The bad…it’s expensive. $23 for a curry is probably getting up there but everything is getting more expensive so that’s life. More annoying is that their delivery is alway 30-45min late every time. We ask for a 5.45pm delivery & dinner turns up at 6.30pm which is pretty annoying. Sure, 1st world problems but annoying none the less. Build that into your planning if you’re ordering...
