Holly’s concept is great, Asian fusion is all the rage these days. Though the execution could be worked on. I initially went in 2022 in which I tried some cabinet options and typical bene brunch including bao bun Korean hotteok I believe it was. Was generally satisfied with the food and left a good impression. Went again in 2023 after their new change up in menu and pork belly baguette caught my eye. Friend got a waffles stack and we got some drinks. Chocolate art was cute, iced latte was average as to be expected, meals themselves were not gonna lie a bit of a let down. In appearance and substance in my opinion. My friend’s waffle stack just looked a bit sad and my baguette well other than the sauces pork belly masking the sad looking bread that felt a bit stale the whole thing was just, yea sad. Pork belly was nice though, and thankfully the chats were the best and staff were kind enough to let us keep chatting without any side eye. Hollys atmosphere is ok, nice spacious seating and rustic vibe, I feel like it would be much elevated with some improvements in...
Read moreThis is a buzzy little Cafe just past Arahoe School at 40 Gilliam Street New Lynn. This Cafe & Catering business with classic Kiwi/Korean flavours. The name Holly has a touching story behind it whereby the cafe and the owners baby carry the same name so they can both grow and thrive together. The food looks amazing, tastes amazing and there is so much variety that seems to suit all dietry requirements. The staff were very busy. If they weren't serving and cleaning tables they were packing orders while others were cooking. Real buzzy as I said. They have both indoor and outdoor seating so pretty much have everything covered. We tried a couple of their Sweet treats the Biskoff Banoffee Pie and a Banana Mini loaf topped with Caramel and Roasted Coconut. Well, if you are a Caramel lover then both of these treats are made just for you. To me it was very very sweet as I don't like caramel. But, see for yourself... Bon...
Read moreI've lived in this neighbour a good portion of my life and prior to this becoming the hottest cafe to be at, this was actually our local dairy. We are regulars here despite moving way out of New Lynn. Every morsel is to die for, we have been coming here every weekend without fail (a part from level 4). My mother in law lives around the corner and walks there every morning for a coffee. The food is delish, customer service is on point and the overall feel of the place is calming. Hands down, this is what New Lynn needed! And trust me, you will never be disappointed!!! I wish I had more pics of the food, but my fat mouth couldnt help but inhale it all. If you're in the area give this place a visit, I promise you won't leave without buying extra! Oh and by the way the banoffee is out of this world. The only thing I ask for is please bring back the...
