Was looking to do breakfast at Ikoyi due to a Doctor's appointment at Ikoyi so I Googled for where I could. Oh lala came up with good reviews about the quality of the food but a number of bad reviews about the slow kitchen. I decided to give it a try anyway thinking how long can it take to fry egg and toast bread. I got there about 10am and our order was taken at 10.11am on the dot. I asked for the manager and was told he wasn't around yet. I told the waiter about what I read online and explained that I was taking my daughter to the hospital at 11am so the English Breakfast must be quick.
At 10.20am, I called the waiter to confirm she had passed my message to the kitchen, considering we were the only ones there, I was expecting a quick turnaround.
At 10.35am, I asked again, how far with the meal, I was told my daughter's own was done and that mine was being prepared, so I told them to bring hers.
10.41am, still nothing, I asked again for a manager and complained to the supervisor.
10.51am, meal comes out after threatened to leave. I asked my daughter to quickly eat and that half of mine be packed. 40 minutes for Breakfast.
To make it interesting, they charged again for take away pack. Not bearing in mind that the take away was due to their...

I love that it's a quiet spot however, it's hidden so I missed the gate and went up and down street and called someone before I found it but after the welcome from the doorman, I instantly forgot my woes.
The portion of the food was just right for me. My pasta had the right amount of cheese and they were very generous with the prawns. Matter of fact, so generous I finished my pasta and still had prawns in my plate. I heard the amala is as amazing as it looked too.
The pricing is very good for Ikoyi. Good on average is 6k and drinks on average is around 4.5k (can definitely be less if you're not having alcohol)
It's a great spot for meetings, a family meal, to catch up with friends and even for dates. There's space for intimate events and because it's already nicely decorated, you won't need to do much. I'll certainly...
Read moreOh la la is a beautiful space in the heart of Ikoyi. The indoor space decor is beautiful and welcoming and makes it suitable for solo/couple dates or even better dates with friends (like I had). They also have beautiful outdoor spaces perfect for dinning or intimate parties. Whike im of the opinion that their menu is restricted, the food was really good, it made up for that. They served bowls of popcorn during the wait for the food and also served complementary icecream after the meal (and it was great!). The prawns were actually well seasoned (unlike many lagos restaurants) and the milkshake was awesome!
Totally...
