I had driven past this place for a pretty while, with the intent, albeit seemingly elusive opportunity, of dining therein - to check it out; aesthetics and all, because I did not expect any surprises.
After all, it’s the same Genesis Restaurant I am all too familiar with - menu and all. I was impressed with the aesthetics of the Adeola Odeku (VI) branch and this looked visually appealing from the exterior.
Then one cool Sunday evening, I suddenly developed an unwavering craving for Dried Catfish. Genesis came to my mind. A new conundrum ensued; VI branch (closer to me, visited before) or the Admiralty Way, Lekki branch (curious, never visited)?
The adventurer in me opted for the latter and I drove out from Oniru around 7:30pm. It was a quick drive.
I arrived and was met with disappointment; it WAS available but was sold out. 😫
But I can be unrelenting and assertive when I have a mission. I asked them to check the kitchen.
Moments later, a young and svelte lady walked out to meet me with a smile…a real one. She promised to get the chefs to prepare my order and asked how many I needed. I was positively perplexed; this was a rare moment of a service staff going the extra mile to delight a (new-to-branch) customer.
Her name is Blessing and she appeared to be a Team Lead or Supervisor.
True to her word, I got my two portions of Dried Catfish ready in about 25 minutes. In between, she met me to inform me that my order is in progress. I have been around, home and abroad, and this was quality service; as good as can be.
Further, the dishes were large and tasty. I also ordered some Egusi soup and Goat Meat. I enjoyed them all.
I have always viewed Genesis as a brand which gives their customer-facing employees good training. However, I had never been served this professionally and cordially in any other Genesis outlet or QSR.
I have mentioned her name, hoping the company’s management will see this review and give her the plaudits she deserves.
This place is very clean and aesthetically endowed. Also conspicuously located with ample parking space. Highly recommended for your...

Read moreI have never seen a location so beautiful, with its cuisine so beautifully presented but the taste so bad. I am writing this cos I have no other way of reaching the owner. Please do something about your menu as a whole. The muffins were soggy. The gizzards were tasteless. The rice was bland. I had to apologise to the kids I was trying to give a treat and agreed with them when they suggested we go to KFC just around the corner. We are most unlikely to return here unless you review the entire Genesis concept. The infrastructure is already in place for first class...
