Spicy Bite Indisk Restaurant & Bar: A Hidden Gem in Lillehammer
On our journey from Stryn to Oslo, we stumbled upon Spicy Bite Indisk Restaurant & Bar, a delightful oasis for anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine. After a long, tiring day, our search for a good meal led us to this place, highly recommended by online reviews.
The moment we stepped in, we were greeted warmly by the staff. They were incredibly cooperative, listening attentively to our dietary preferences and customizing the dishes to suit our tastes. As vegetarians, it's often challenging to find places that cater specifically to our needs, but Spicy Bite surpassed our expectations.
We started with the Paneer Tikka, which was perfectly cooked and generously portioned for two people. The paneer was tender and well-marinated, bursting with flavors that took us straight to the streets of India.
The highlight of our meal was the Chana Masala. The chickpeas were cooked to perfection, with just the right blend of spices creating a harmonious balance of sweet and sour. It was undoubtedly the best Chana Masala we've ever had, capturing the essence of traditional Indian cooking.
The pièce de résistance, however, was the Vegetable Biryani. It was so extraordinarily delicious that we ordered it twice! Each bite was an explosion of flavors, with perfectly cooked rice and a medley of vegetables seasoned impeccably. We've never tasted such a remarkable Biryani in all of Norway.
The exceptional service and the mouthwatering food left my friends and family thoroughly satisfied. Spicy Bite Indisk Restaurant & Bar has now given us a special reason to visit Lillehammer more often. If you ever find yourself in need of a delightful culinary experience on the route , do not miss...
Read more7 June 2025 We had mango chicken, butter lamb curry and traditional Indian lamb curry... and WOW!!! We were very pleasantly surprised that we had the best Indian food we have ever tried.... and it's in Norway! The briyani rice was very light to the taste, and this paired very well with the fragrant curries.
We are from Singapore, which is never short of Indian food. But this one here won our unanimous vote.
The chai tea was very delicately fragrant with the right sweetness. The lady owner promised us that we won't be disappointed with the tea and it was true... love it!
The service from the staff was excellent and the lady owner took time to interact with us.
The prices of the food were reasonable and within expectation.
Most shops and eateries in Norway are closed from 4pm on Saturdays and the whole of Sundays.
So if you are there over the weekend, make sure to have your meals at this wonderful place which is opened 365 days...
Read moreGreat food, great ambiance, and brilliant service. We could tell the owners put their heart and soul into making food and treat guests as if they visited their own home.
We are visiting from New York and were driving back to Oslo. I am so glad we stopped by to grab a bite. I could say with conviction that very little Indian food in the New York area tastes as good.
We tried the vegetable biriyani, channa masala, naan (kulcha) and butter paneer. There was not one fault with any of the food. Top class. Worthy of Michelin star!
They accommodated us arriving within 30 minutes of closing, had food readily prepared as we had ordered over the phone prior to arriving, and ensured we could add anything to our order after we arrived too. Even treated us to great tea and coffee at the end of our meal. Our 3-year old toddler only eats dry panneer. But today, she had panneer gravy for the first time and are...
