Yuuka Yuuka Sushi Narvik — Restaurant in Narvik

The sushi didn't taste like sushi. I'm not even sure if they'd added su to the rice, it tasted too bland. The conveyor belt is made to keep a low temperature, which should be a good thing. But the plate I took had old maki bites, the fish was starting to look dry at the edges, and the tempura inside was mushy with a strong fishy taste. There was no wasabi or gari in sight. The soy sauce was a terrible salty non-Japanese brand. In addition, we had a hard time finding a glass for water. Nothing looked clean, probably because of their steamer or dishwasher not washing the dishes properly. I even found a fingerprint on a glass, which looked like it had avoided being cleaned in a dishwasher, rather than having been put there later. I went to Yuuka Yuuka Sushi yesterday and ordered the scallop sashimi and scallop nigiri. When the food came I instantly noticed something was wrong. The scallops were halfway dried and emitted an ammonia smell. I tasted one of the scallops, and the taste of bitterness and sourness and ammonia was overwhelming. I instinctingly spat the scallop out in a napkin, and notified the staff. The staff did not speak norwegian or much english, but were helpful in refunding the meal, and notifying their manager about the spoiled batch of seafood. I have gone there to eat before, and no problems have arisen, but this time the food quality sadly was beyond subpar. I was actually worried about getting ill, but it seems I was...

I went here between coming with the train and taking the bus further on. Practical location five min from the train station, but located in a mall, so you know it's not gonna be a nice place.

However, the sushi was surprisingly good. I had menu 38, which had different tasty variations of vegan sushi, and a lot of filling (not just a piece of cucumber like you always get). So this place is a good choice!
