I donât usually write reviews this long, but my experience at Fly Chicken was honestly so positive that I feel it deserves it. From the moment I walked in until the moment I left, everything about the place impressed me â the food, the atmosphere, and especially the service. One person in particular, Mell, stood out and really elevated the whole experience.
First, letâs talk about the food. Fly Chicken delivers exactly what you expect from the name â delicious, crispy, and flavorful chicken thatâs cooked to perfection. Iâve had fried chicken from a lot of different spots, but this one genuinely ranks among the best. The seasoning has the perfect balance of spices, not too salty, not too bland, and the chicken itself is juicy inside with a crunch that makes every bite satisfying. I tried both their classic wings and one of their special sandwiches, and I honestly couldnât decide which I liked more. The wings had that perfect kick, while the sandwich felt like comfort food done right. The fries were crispy golden, and I loved that they didnât feel greasy. Even the sauces were on point â you can tell that thereâs thought behind the flavors instead of just generic dips.
Now, food alone can make a place good, but what really makes a restaurant memorable is the service. And thatâs where Mell comes in. He was the one working when I visited, and I could tell right away that he cared about the customers and the experience they had. He greeted me with genuine warmth, answered all my questions about the menu with patience, and even recommended what he thought was the best combination. I followed his suggestion, and he was absolutely right.
What impressed me most was how attentive Mell was. Even though the restaurant had a steady flow of people, he still made sure to check in, ask if everything was okay, and make sure I had what I needed. He didnât just act like someone doing a job â he acted like someone who wanted you to feel welcome, as if you were a guest rather than just a customer. That kind of service is rare these days.
The atmosphere of Fly Chicken is also worth mentioning. The space is clean, modern, and welcoming, with just the right vibe for grabbing a quick bite or even hanging out with friends. The music was good without being too loud, and the overall environment had a nice energy. Itâs the kind of place you could see yourself going back to regularly, whether for a casual meal or a late-night craving.
Overall, Iâd say Fly Chicken gets it right in every way â great food, great space, and staff who clearly care. But Mell especially made my visit memorable. When someone goes out of their way to make sure you enjoy your meal and feel valued as a customer, thatâs something worth recognizing.
If youâre looking for amazing fried chicken and a place where the people are just as good as the food, I highly recommend Fly Chicken. And if Mell is there, youâre in for an even...
Read moreI just bought a house nearby and was hoping Iâd love this place. Sadly itâs the opposite.
Iâm an American and have some expectations for fried chicken. It should be crispy. It should be fresh. There shouldnât be skin under the breading.
This place seems like one of those shady kebab shops dressed up as a chicken chain. The chicken isnât crispy and Iâm pretty sure they donât brine it before frying. The chicken had skin; this should always be removed before breading and frying.
The fries tasted like they were fried in old oil. I know this flavor â I used to work for a potato chip company and know when oil isnât fresh.
Very disappointed. Itâs Norway, and I know itâs not America. But frying a chicken shouldnât be that hard, and Iâm willing to pay 150 nok (15 USD) for a decent chicken sandwich that costs $4 in the states. This just really really misses the mark.
Iâd say just go with a safe bet and go to McDonaldâs (better quality control, you know what...
Read moreI've ordered a takeaway with the plan to take the bus from Lindern to Nydalen. Short walk, pick up lunch.
Unfortunately, a bus transport challenge upstream Kvadraturen in Oslo has held up many buses, with a 40-minute delay. The restaurant called me worried after 30 minutes of the food waiting at the counter, if I'm coming. I arrived after 45 minutes past collection time. The best part was the restaurant had insisted that I get freshly prepared ordered, when I arrived.
The boneless chicken tights I've ordered were warm, juicy, and a joy to eat!
Incredible service and staff that really care for a terrific fried...
