Did a self/gps guided tour with a rentable electric car. This was one of the recommended stops, parked car and hiked around for a bit. Went back to car only to be met with a old man with a bad attitude telling me we didnt pay for parking. As we were leaving he made me get out of the car and go pay inside the restaurant. We really did not know the parking wasnt free. The signs were not clearly posted. Went in to pay and it was about 100 kr(10euro). Tried to pay with my American Express, and was told they didnt take amex. They said I would need to use another card. When I told them I only had amex, the lady smirked as if i was lying, very rude in my opinion. They asked if I had cash, which I did not. I was told I wont get far in Norway with Amex as no one takes it. This was not true. Used my card 5 other times that day no problems. They questioned why I said I only had american express and told me to check my phone to see if i had any other cards in my digital wallet. The man that chased me down to pay finally said I could go, since there was no way to pay. He followed me back to the renatal car was seemed very mad. Not my fault they dont take the most popular credit card in the world. They wasted about 10 minutes of my 2 hour tour. To be honest, if they were more nice, I would’ve taken out my visa card in my pocket that I of course had and paid! Should have been more friendly! The restaurant was also VERY hot. So if you dont like eating in what feels like a sauna this place is not for you. The goats walking around were...

the restaurant opens at 12.00, but the kitchen - at 15.00!! How?? So, at 13.00 we could only order wraps, that's 2 positions of 15. But that's still ok. We ordered vrap with ham and salmon. Then it turned out that the salmon is finished. further is even more interesting. We asked for vrap without goat cheese. Of course, they brought it with cheese. We reminded it and that they tried to rework it - to scrape the cheese out of the wrap🙈, but it didn't work. I said ok, give one with cheese, but make another one without cheese. And, oh miracle! - there was no salmon, but now another one appeared and they were able to make it... And all of it was added with the fact that they forgot to bring waffles to the child, they also forgot the second beer... But yes, nature and the view...

Lol I visited this place after the lockdown and just drafted this review to give this place a chance. I'm reading now the lowest rated reviews and still has the same problem. That old man is still treating some people badly. Seems like he's having worse tantrums than my 2 toddlers combined. A bit psychotic, so beware. My advise as a person who lives in Norway - STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Go use that money on something else and not from this wretched place. Go to the nearest grocery, buy some Lefse or kvikklunsj (go ask at the cashier and pronounce it like this : kwik loonsh), buy your favorite drink, search for a hike route and enjoy the experience. Or just use that money to rent a car - go drive and enjoy the view. Or rent a cabin. JUST STAY AWAY...

A little expensive (entrées are around 240NOK) but we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of food that this restaurant at the Westeras Farm puts out. We were staying there for the night, so we chose to eat here after seeing the good reviews on TripAdvisor. There are only three choices for entrées. My boyfriend opted for the salmon, and I chose the beef entrecote without cream sauce, and they asked for my preferred doneness for the beef. The food is well-plated and well-executed. My beef was tender, juicy, and flavorful. The potatoes and carrots (fresh from the farm) had a nice crisp crust. The raspberry sauce was a nice addition as well. We did not have room for dessert, but the desserts at the other tables looked great.

When it comes to food, I wasn’t expecting much in a small town. I was just looking for a non-fish soup on a rainy day to take-away and found this place on Google. I grew a little concerned as I was driving further away from main part of town and into a small one way road. But, I’m glad I stumbled upon this place. I was pleasantly surprised by the mini-fine dining ambiance. It was very cute and quiet. Staff seemed very professional and the open kitchen was really clean. I still ended up taking out because I needed to get back but the food was good even as take out. I imagine it would’ve been better there. Would love to come back and dine in person.

Must visit. If incredible hospitality meets delicious food crossed with epic views. What’s not to like. Parking can be a tad difficult but they try to save spots for people visiting the restaurant and not just for hikers heading to the waterfall. The coffee is hot and dark and strong - yum. Waffles are thick and soft and delicious. The ice cream with caramel was the favorite but the jam with the sour cream also delectable.
