I've been hearing about Caffe Praha for quite some time now, and for some reason I wasn't getting a chance to try it out. I had far more expectations from Praha, and I wouldn't say that I was disappointed, since I try my best not to hold preconceived notions when trying out a eatery for the first time.
This is why I'm still rating the place with three stars, despite the various mishaps that took place during my visit. Since it's June, and it's usually very hot, but today the overall weather was pleasant and windy, but contrary to that I was feeling very hot at Praha. Upon my request to increase the cooling, one of the servers apologized and told me that one of their standup ac unit was under maintenance, which is why the inadequate cooling, still it was bearable.
Then secondly, we ordered a seafood dish, but it was either stale, or close to getting spoiled, because it had a typical fish smell which was bearable by myself, but would not be accepted by many. So we asked them to return the same, and the server did not argue at all and asked me to order something else from their menu. Either they knew it was bad fish, or they know what customer service is and did the right thing immediately. I feel it was the latter. Overall the food was good and the serving potions were also pretty good for the price tag.
The last that happened was that when the bill arrived, the fish dish was charged in the bill. Usually, I check the bills thoroughly, but I overlooked it. We made payment via debit card and after we left, we realized we had paid around 2000+ per person. We went back and checked and we found out that they had mistakenly charged the canceled seafood dish. They asked me to wait, and withing 2 minutes they brought the revised Bill with the extra amount they had charged. Now I'm calculating, and realized that i was also charged 13-17% GST on that dish which shouldn't have been charged in the first place.
So what could be a potential amazing experience, sadly became a pretty...
Read moreWorst experience of my whole life,I have loved cafe praha since it opened but now I hate it,quality and quantity of food was trash burger was smaller than my hand,10 fries were given nothing in burger except 3 ounces of beef which was supposed to be 7 ounces for 1.8k the service was the main thing I hated today of cafe praha, had to wait 1 and a half hour for our food and chimney was so dry that it felt days old, steak had barely and quantity it was one small piece.never have I ever waited 40 mins for ice,30 mins for water and 1 hour for a simple dessert.the table beside us three different families came and ate till we got our food.the bill was served on a plate lol ice on a flippin plastic glass,we waited 20 mins for the bill alone also for our order the unprofessional servers forgot our order thrice and came and asked us.for everything we ordered we had to tell them at least 5 times to bring it also we waited 15 minutes for tissues which were given by hand to us and on a plate to the table beside us,the food tasted like re heated cardboard the servers were EXTREMELY unprofessional.i would never go to praha ever again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone also I have never written such reviews food was too expensive based on quantity and quality also they are definitely not...
Read moreNicely done place that is known for its breakfast and their french toast. We went for dinner and found the Korean Sticky Wings (spicy!) a delightful snack to nibble on while we waited for the main course. For the main course we had been recommended their Chimneys and found both the Praha's Orignal Chicken and Beef Tenderloin Chimney to be too much of a Creamy Sauce (and not enough Pesto) and that killed any taste. The Salad on the side was really good and so were the fries. The Alfredo Pasta (requested without any garnish or mushrooms) was given a thumbs up by our 10-yr old. That's one place extra saucy is ok ☺️. The Crispy Beef Bowl was their redeemer! One dish that would make me go back there! Superbly done beef and just the right blend of flavors in the sauce. And the Garlic rice was just unmatchable! The kids wanted Ice-cream for dessert as they had had a heavy dessert earlier in the week so we didn't get a chance to sample the sweets. I might consider heading back to try the Banoffee and Pavlova.
They are known for Coffee (they roast their own) and since I don't partake much Caffeine anymore especially at night, couldn't verify how authentic a...
