I recently had the chance to dine at Gourmet Restaurant, hoping for a delightful Iftar experience, but was met with disappointment. The meal I opted for was an Iftar platter and Kebab Deal, which included Seekh Kebab, Malai Boti, and Chicken Tikka, along with a side order of their Special Handi.
Unfortunately, the "Special" Handi fell short of its name, lacking in flavor and leaving much to be desired. Similarly, the Malai Boti was missing its signature creamy richness, and the Seekh Kebabs were below par in taste and quality. This was a letdown, especially considering the anticipation for a flavorful feast.
Adding to the dismay was the restaurant's interior and cutlery, which appeared outdated and worn, desperately in need of an update. This aspect alone significantly detracted from the dining experience, making it less enjoyable.
Another point of contention was the pricing. The restaurant charges excessively for its offerings, with even a simple naan bread priced at 130, which is steep compared to its competitors. This pricing, coupled with the lackluster food and ambiance, fails to justify the cost of dining here.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Gourmet Restaurant. The combination of uninspiring dishes, outdated decor, and high prices make it a place I won't be visiting again. For those seeking a memorable dining experience, it might be wise to consider...
Read moreAssalamu Alaikum,
I am writing to express my disappointment and concern regarding an incident that occurred today at Gourmet restaurant Z Block, phase 3 Lahore. Despite being a proudly Pakistani chain, the store was openly selling Zio-affiliated products such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and Sprite. It is deeply disheartening to see a local brand supporting companies that many in our nation are consciously boycotting for ethical and political reasons.
When we requested an alternative—such as Gourmet Cola or Cola Next—we were informed that these local options were not available. Furthermore, when we asked if we could bring our own alternative beverage from outside, the manager respectfully declined our request.
This not only reflects poorly on Gourmet restaurants stance regarding national and ethical responsibility but also appears to undermine efforts by many Pakistanis who are actively supporting local products over global brands associated with unethical practices.
We urge the management of Gourmet restaurant to reconsider their policies and align their practices with the sentiments of their loyal Pakistani customers. Until then, we encourage a peaceful and respectful boycott of Gourmet Foods, Z Block, Lahore, for restricting consumer choice and promoting...
Read moreGourmet at one time was such a hit entrant on the desi food scene, but slowly, they could not hold onto it.
Recently, I was told that they are doing a fantastic job with some new entrees on their menu, mostly fast food so had to try it out.
It was a nice surprise that it was actually worth it for me to get their burger and sandwich. Honestly the double patty zinger, called big bite burger was an explosion of crisp batter, not oily at all in the mouth when compared to multinational chains. I have to say I will give it 9/10 with value to money added to it. The fries were crispy, too, with our desi chat masala just barely sprinkled.
Club sandwich was again good. The bread was toasted well, boiled eggs and rich mayo with ample chicken in it. I wish they could add bran bread option to it also.
Honestly, I just could take a single bite of the grilled burger, and it was good, too. To be honest, grilled burgers don't have much in them for me, and chicken always get grilled dry. Their sauce was just adequate, not unnecessarily excessive, which let's u enjoy the slight flavor of chicken there is.
Gourmet Grill, don't ruin it this time. People will come for your burgers if not Karahi, I know I will for your...
