Over the last four decadew, Shezan at Fortress Stadium has got developed a very loyal clientele. It's chicken chops, and club sandwich have been very popular dishes. Shezan Regale is extension of Shezan brand to Deffence Housing Authority. I don't know why it has not been able to develop the same kind of clientele as it's Fortress branch has got. Shezan Regale, situated at the corner of H Block market, is big establishment. H Block Market has emerged the main eatery hub in Deffence Housing Authority. One probable reason of the Shezan Regale not being able to attract a good number of customers, is because that it has to compete wit more than 4 dozens eateries of all types that have been cramped up into a stretch of less than half kilometre.
At Shezan Regale, for the starter we ordereď Chicken Caesar Salad. It was a good bowel of lettuce, crispy bread, and chicken chunks. I liked the salad dressing coming separately in a small cup: I garnished salad to my own taste, and enjoyed it.
For the main course we ordered Chiccken Tarragon Chicken and Malai Tikka. Malai Tikka was marinated to perfection. It was tender and juicy, but a bit extra buttery. Terragon chicken had 4 breast fillet nicely done, served with plenty of warm creamy tarragon sauce. The tarragon sauce not only went well with roasted great fillet, I also at the tikka with it, that made tikka more flavourful.
The over all experience was good. For the taste, I will...
Read moreWe visited the Shezan Regale branch in DHA and, as expected, the food did not disappoint. The Chicken Biryani was excellent — much better than the overly spiced and greasy versions served at places like Naseeb and Achanak. The Leg Piece Tikka, though on the smaller side, was juicy and well-prepared. My son, who’s quite the foodie, thoroughly enjoyed the Mushroom Chicken Steak, especially impressed by the presentation and the generous portion of sautéed vegetables. Personally, I still feel steaks are best had at dedicated steakhouses, but this one was quite decent. The Chicken Cheese Kabab had a distinct flavor and a soft, melt-in-the-mouth texture — definitely a highlight.
That said, the ambience left much to be desired. The dining hall was very noisy during our visit due to large gatherings and children running around, making it feel more like a playground than a restaurant. A bit more control from the management would go a long way in preserving the dining experience. Additionally, the hall was uncomfortably cold due to several air conditioners running simultaneously, which not only made it less comfortable to sit in but also caused the food to lose its warmth quickly. All in all, great food — but the atmosphere needs improvement to make the experience...
Read moreSheezan is one of Pakistan’s oldest restaurants, where time seems to stand still. It’s a new ordinarily maintained location. The flavors here are almost the same as they were 30 years ago, steeped in tradition and prepared with age old techniques. Their steak still carries oriental touch, presented with potatoes and vegetables in a desi style. The prices are affordable, and the traditional cuisine is consistently satisfying. Signature dishes like chicken barbecue, chicken kababs, chicken haleem, chicken/ mutton karahi, mash daal and brain masala have been staples for decades. You might even recognize some of the same waiters who served you years ago. While the restaurant now appeals more to veterans, senior citizens and families than to younger crowds, dining at Sheezan is always a good journey back in time, with food served in an old-fashioned style and accompanied by simple,...
