Food :-
BAD THINGS:-
Taste : Very generic. Was very plain. For example: chicken dishes were almost identical except for maybe color. The beef and chicken had no flavor. The beef was really bad (kinda like rubber). Nor did they use any special sauce (no oyster, no dark soy sauce , no siracha s etc). In short compared to local dishes it was not unique and was something a 10 year old could make. I COULD NOT EVEN TASTE THE CHICKEN BROTH in anything.
Quality : The beef they used in the dry stir fry was either not fresh or was from the wrong part of the animal (the meat needs to have fatty marbling for this type of dish). Otherwise we get what we got very chewy strips of rubber what they called "dry beef chillie stir fry something " . If they can not get that right then what's the point of this dish? Are they even serious about being a Chinese restaurant ?Or are they messing around with people?
Quantity : Was very disappointing. Basically they just gave us rice. Visually, a medium sized plate with hmm...2/4 of the inside part of the plate (not a huge heap) of rice. 1/4 of the chicken. For beef it became 1/5. Please note that these were not just protein(meat) But was a combination of Beef +chillies and chicken + gravy + onions + bell peppers. The most infuriating part was when we asked the waiter. "could you please get us more rice (this isn't enough)" His response " well that's gonna cost EXTRA, do you now do you want plain or...
Price : For the low quality (beef), low quantity (no extra rice, small amount of chicken and smaller amount of beef.), for plain flavor less food etc. OVER PRICED. We were extremely over charged. Mineral bottle local, was 200 Rs....
Atmosphere : extremely minimalistic. It did not feel like we were in China. Just visiting a poor imitation...
Staff : Was not always around. And were not paying attention or maybe didn't notice when being called.
Good things :-
Food : Was on time. They took 10 to 15 min to bring food. Surprisingly punctual. The Food was hot. Not warm. The chicken felt fresh. Overall quality (not taste) was OK. Did not get acidity problem after meal.
Atmosphere : Was clean. Plates were also clean. Overall it was not super clean but OK. The one thing that was very amusing was they had a Chinese guy(kid) at the cash register. I think he was the most Chinese aspect of the restaurant. XD
Staff : was trained on how to take orders. That is they were not ogling (staring) at females.
Overall comment :
Will I come again : no Should you visit : depends on you. If you want quick hot plain chicken dish with brothless fried egg rice that won't give you acidic problems then this place will do. Just don't expect to get a full tummy unless you can pay more than 5000 a...
Read moreWhy i was taken there: Economical, Tasty and Quality Chinese.
What we ordered: Kim Mun Special Soup Hot n Sour Soup Chicken Chowmein Mongolian Beef Coke +Diet Coke
Experience: 1 - Welcome to the 90's. They do not support card payments. Cash only. 2 - Asked for family area, was guided to a corner spot with men occupying side tables and staff kept glaring over our and the table next to us, throughout.
Service: Order was well taken, Service was on point. Food was served within time. Staff was courteous.
Taste: Special soup had too much salt in it. Too less prawns in it, barely any. Chowmein was bland. Mongolian Beef was delicious.
Price: For the above shared order, was charged 6,800+ PKR.
Verdict: Not an economical Chinese option. Not worth the money. Not good taste. Generous cracker...
Read moreMy experience at the restaurant was quite average. I found the food to be overly salty for my taste. The chow mein was decent but nothing special it felt more like a standard dish you could find anywhere. The cashew nuts were similarly just okay, lacking that satisfying crunch and flavor I was hoping for. As for the beef chili dry, it missed the mark entirely in terms of spice; I had expected a bold kick, but it turned out to be rather bland. The prawns, while prepared well, were a bit tough, making them less enjoyable to eat. If you're looking to relive some nostalgia and want to experience what Chinese food was like 15 years ago, this place might be worth a visit. Otherwise, I’d suggest looking elsewhere for something more contemporary and flavorful.
