TGI Friday's | Albrook Mall — Restaurant in Ancón

Lacklustre food and service.

I ordered a wine but they were out of it, so I ordered a cocktail instead. It wasn't delivered and my husband was done his first beer before we were informed they were out of an ingredient so I needed to order something different. By this time we had been there almost a half hour. I ordered another cocktail and it was incredibly sweet. Oh well. Not to my taste.

We ordered several appetizers and they were anything BUT appetizing. Luke-warm soggy fries made the Buffalo fries a disaster. Chicken sliders were okay but again, not fresh and crispy like you might expect. Also we waited far too long to get a bill after we said we were finished and needed to request it from another waiter.

Hubby's beer was nice and cold and served with a frosty mug. It was by far the best thing we had.

I would pass on this place and head next door. Or even try the food court for that matter. What a disappointment after the many great...

Well, it's a TGI Fridays, that says most of it. Service is fine, may be a little too intrusive but nothing to worry about. My 3-star rating, instead of a clean 4-star, is due to the dish I ordered and not to the general tone of the place.

I tried the Beef Ribs because, to be honest, there are not many places selling ribs that are beef ribs, most are pork and some are lamb, but beef is quite unusual. Flavor was fine, no complaints on it, but the meat is too dry, some kind of sauce or even a couple of seconds in meat broth could do a lot for it; and on top of that the cole slaw that comes with it is a poor choice for the fresh sensation required from the vegetables in such a heavy dish. Sad, because the idea of well cooked beef ribs sounds great for this kind of place.

Oh, please do not forget, sodas (Coca Cola, Sprite, and so) and Iced Tea...

I thought the burger I had was good. The only times I have been to TGI Friday's has always been out of the country (United States). Usually you are pretty safe going with a burger and it was the case here as well. Clean, friendly staff, it would be a great location to sit down and talk with people. Not that much more expensive than some of the fast food options in the mall (price wise it just depends what you get). The one recommendation I would say is to have some sort of sign whether to seat yourself or wait. If I come back at some point I would really like to try the...
