Restaurante Ahumados — Restaurant in David Sur

I really like this restaurant. It is connected to the hotel next door, which I've unfortunately never had the pleasure of staying in. They have regular menu items ranging from hamburgers and steaks, to Chinese items like shrimp wontons and sopa mayor (😋). It's ordinarily always quiet, never very crowded, always clean, and the tables are always nicely set. The wait staff are always very pleasant and friendly. I give this restaurant 5 stars overall, for the atmosphere and dining experience in general, and for their food items. I have been frequenting this restaurant since they opened several years ago now and keep coming back, when I have the time - I emphasize "when I have the time" as what I have become accustomed to and must always allow for (every single time without exception) is an unusually long wait time between placing my ordee and actually having the food I've ordered sat on the table in front of me. There is inevitably always a delay in the preparation of the food in the kitchen. It's not the server causing this, nor the order delivery system as my order is always taken directly to the back and entered into the system without delay. It's what happens next, after the order is entered and is sent to the kitchen, or what doesn't happens as the case may be. The root cause lies somewhere in the kitchen, and it's not like it's been the same kitchen staff all these years, as it hasn't. There's been plenty of turnover, and the chef has changed numerous times over the years. Im guessing it's the process. I mean, what else could it be, rhetorically speaking. I really do enjoy eating at this restaurant, I just always know to allow sufficient time to accommodate an extended wait at the table - ordinarily at least a full hour at a minimum, or to play it really safe, a full hour and a half from the time I walk in until I'm full up, well satisfied, have paid the bill and am walking out the door. We had breakfast here a couple of times and it was very good, however at $12.00 pp it's not cheap.If you are not skirmish about eating where the locals do, there are plenty od places within 10 minutes walk where you can have breakfast...

Pedimos almuerzo ejecutivo, se supone que esta listo para ser servido, sin embargo la comida llegó fría, tarde. Las meseras desorganizadas, traían la comida por capítulos. Mi compañera tuvo que esperar que le trajeran la suya casi 20 minutos después de la nuestra. La comida es buena, pero es inexplicable como tardaron tanto en servir algo que se supone está ya hecho. Que tal que hubiéramos pedido algo a la carta. El ambiente del restaurante muy lúgubre, opaco, demasiadas texturas, se ve triste. Espero puedan mejorar el servicio y...
