Ordered sweet 'n sour pork ribs on the menu for $15 ... told me the primary difference between it and the same thing a page or two back was the additional pineapple and ginger. I said okay then, I'll have that. Got sweet 'n sour pieces of pork, breaded, no pineapple, and no ginger, which was on the menu for $9. They tried to convince me that the odd bits and pieces of breaded pork were ribs. It is true that I was indeed able to find two rib fragments among the twenty some-odd pieces of what was otherwise nice tender pieces of meat. But that's not the point. I'm from Texas, and believe you me, I know what pork ribs are. Even here in town, at La Tipica, you'll find excellent sweet 'n sour pork ribs. After some time squabbling with them, they relented and lowered the price to $9 which is what I told the girl would make me happy. I was fine with that. I thought that was fair. We came here again with our recent visit in David. It was a surprise. The food was very good and very reasonably priced. A vast difference from when we came a few years ago. We even revisited twice during our 5 days visit in David. The restaurant setting had improved. They may have changed ownership since a few years ago. La primera vez que fui, pedi cazuela de falda de res con tofu frito con vegetales, estaba muy rica la comida. La segunda vez pedí algo diferente pensando que como la primera vez estaba bueno, pensé que esta segunda vez tambien lo estaría, para mi decepción, estaba horrible la comida. Pedí sopa de Wanton que en realidad ni tenia wanton, estaba super condimentada como si fuera un guacho de perro, tenía pollo asado viejo como del día anterior, imaginense todo eso en una sopa que se supone solo debía ser fideos y wanton, malisima la sopa. Mi esposa pidió arroz con camarones al ajillo, esos camarones estaban horribles, nisiquiera eran al ajillo, sabían como si estuvieron guardados y fueron recalentados, y tenía exceso de salsas y aceite... horrible la segunda visita que hicimos. Recomiendo que si quieren probar, pidan la cazuela de falda de res y tofu, es lo unico rescatable si quieren algo que no sea arroz frito.
