Da Stefano Trattoria — Restaurant in Juan Díaz

Went there around 8/9 oct, dinner. Thought of just leaving it be and not coming back anymore. Now saw a review about the egg carbonara... well well... can't be true, or it was different chef, so I have to warn others. No way, chef is (or at least was that night) not Italian or not trained to cook well Italian food. Worst "carbonara" ever. A yellow thick glue sauce mixed with lots (too much) fried bacon and bacon, an unedible calory bomb that took me long to digest. The parmigiana was not bad but not a real one. Expensive but not worth it. Good thing, the attentive and accurate waiters, though they looked worried about something... foodwise i hope guess it was a bad night...

Ummm, WOW! This was hands down the best Italian food I have had in my life. I had a mushroom pasta that was to die for and left me wishing I lived in Panama so I could enjoy it more often. Everything about this restaurant is perfect — the atmosphere, staff, food. The owner/chef came out to give our table recommendations and he was just a delight to talk to, you could tell that he really cares about your experience at his restaurant. His young son made an appearance too, as the restaurant was closing, and he was just the sweetest, curly-haired little being. I hope the universe blesses this restaurant and the owner with the success...

Sono capitato in questo ristorante grazie ad un'unica recensione negativa, che... mi sembrava talmente fuori luogo da meritare una visita.

Per fortuna.

Iniziamo dal locale: pulito, intimo, con un sottofondo musicale che, essendo io solo, mi ha piacevolmente accompagnato tutta la serata. Lo avrei preferito un filo più basso, se fossi stato in compagnia, ma non era comunque invasivo. Qualcuno vorrebbe lamentarsi per i tovaglioli di carta? Ma su, andiamo... È una trattoria... Era tutto perfetto.

Il servizio, poi... due persone squisite che, pur nella differenza di linguaggio, e contro il loro interesse, mi hanno dissuaso dall'ordinare DUE piatti. Uno infatti bastava e avanzava (e infatti, pur essendo buonissimo, non sono riuscito a finirlo...).

Ho scelto manzo con contorno di linguine al formaggio. Si, sì lo so... In Italia non siamo abituati. Però se fate finta che le linguine siano il pane, ci manca poco. Le linguine le ho finite in un amen, la bistecca non sono proprio riuscito: era enorme.

Non sono riuscito a prendere altro... A una certa età, se si esagera, c'è il rischio concreto di... non digerire niente...

L'unico consiglio che posso dare al ristoratore, ma non è un appunto, è portare qualcosa al tavolo mentre il cliente aspetta... Olive? Grissini?...

Mentre per voi che leggete il consiglio è quello di andarci accompagnati. Difficilmente la serata potrebbe prendere una brutta piega...

E se poi avete un cane, con gli avanzi, vi farà una festa tale che... vi obbligherà a tornarci!!

Il conto è stato poi una piacevole sorpresa. Il prezzo era onesto, e soprattutto ho apprezzato che fosse "cerchiato" il prezzo da pagare. In altri ristoranti, se non state attenti, vi prendono a "pomodori" in faccia, e si trattengono la mancia senza neanche dire grazie.

Una mancia l'ho lasciata, ma per LIBERA scelta, e non quale vittima di un furto con...
