One of the very few Vietnamese restaurants in the country. In fact, it is the very first of its kind since 2014. Happy to say that this place had my usual favorite items such as beef pho soup, spring rolls with fish sauce, summer rolls with peanut sauce, and coffee with condensed milk. All the items I tried tasted good. The beef pho soup was served with a side of culantro and bean sprouts.
The dining area is air conditioned and clean. Features both indoor and outdoor seating. Parking lot is tiny, only fits a few cars so you will have to find street parking. Service is decent.
I feel obligated to say that I have experienced many amazing authentic Vietnamese restaurants in New York City. This place does not compare. But no need to worry because the taste is good enough. This restaurant will suffice as a good enough Vietnamese restaurant. It has the most reviews of all such restaurants in the city. And the rating is very high, so many people are satisfied. But if you are someone who is a devout fan of these restaurants, do not come here with high hopes. Just letting you know. Vietnamese restaurants have been in this country for less than a decade. For sure they will improve over time. I will return in the very near future to try the beef pho with...
Read moreI had a terrible experience, do not waste your time or money. The customer service was just awful and the food was tasteless. From the moment I arrived the hostess/server was not attentive and I waited 10 - 15 minutes to put in an order (including my drink order). Two minutes after putting in my order I asked to switch one of my plates to another item and the server said "ok" but then proceeded to give me the item I said didn't want. Then she said it was too late to take it off and the worst part is that it was disgusting. I barely touched the food because of how disgusting it was then at the end of the meal after being handed the check I was told they don't take credit cards. I never carry cash. Luckily someone paid my $50 bill and they had to go with me to the ATM. I was mortified. Additionally, no one in this establishment speaks English which is a bit odd because it's located in the heart of San Francisco where there are many tourists, but I digress. Don't waste your time, energy or stomach space on this place. You've...
Read moreThis location we found through a lonely planet referral. We were very surprised. Lonely planet food locations are very good, but not this place. The good. The pho soup was actually very good. The iced coffe was excellent. The bad. The grilled chicken was the worst I ever had. It was not grilled, deep fried. The spring rolls were very oily and no taste. I had the grilled pork combination spring rolls and vermicelli noodles. This was ok. I would not come again and can not recommend this...
