Restaurante Sukiyaki — Restaurant in Asuncion

This is a little hidden gem with great service. It appears to be an old restaurant, could use an update but gives the retroclassic Japanese restaurant décor and feel, which means it must have been there a while.

Our server went for it and cooked our yakiniku, which was great. The pork was particularly the best. Sushi boat only had one fish type on it in different styles, so if seeking variety, especially sharing with friends, I'd recommend checking or requesting with the server; the salmon was fresh and the rice was well done. Friend had Agedashi Tofu and said it was good, I regret not having tried it.

On a rainy late August night I walked to this restaurant for the first time as I was in mood for some warm Miso soup and salmon. I must say that this place did not disappoint. The place is very old and can possibly use an uplift but some may say that that’s the part of the charm!

The place was very busy for a rainy night but the service was efficient. I ordered some appetizers, salmon and wine. Everything was great - esp the fried appetizer was great !!

The prices also very reasonable - for what you see in the pics + 2x wine I paid PGY 142,000 - about $19 USD. Absolutely a great value.

Great service, but I went there in hopes of great sushi and we were disappointed in the quality.

The miso soup was very good, I would recommend trying something else than the sushi. They have an interesting menu with a lot of traditional Japanese recipes.

The restaurant itself also need some love. The decoration is very old and gives a cheap vibe...
