El Salto del Fraile Lima Peru — Restaurant in Lima Metropolitan Area

I don't know who owns this restaurant but there are some things you can work on to make this a VERY successful place. First, I emailed, went to the website and Facebook messaged for questions about the restaurant and to set up a reservation. This was all done threw weeks before I flew in. I didn't get a reply until I was in Peru for my second day. Next, the place is spectacular!! Hands down the view and the inside of the restaurant is gorgeous. Even the presentation of the food shows attention to detail. However, the quality of the meats and the taste is not up to par. The chicken was dry. The beef was poor flavor. The dessert tasted like it was not from an expensive restaurant. The showmanship of the monks diving off is a great idea. Some dishes have regular presentation but no more than that, most of my order had very bad taste, like no fresh ingredients. Fish and seafood not fresh at all, tasted even like old frozen products with a very bad taste. The environment and some dishes makes you distrust about how clean kitchen is. Prices are not extremely expensive but I think too overpriced for the quality of food they give. The service was also bad, the waiter brought me 2 dishes that I didn’t order and he pushed me to accept them. BEWARE OF SCAMS! I selected a Chita fish that was priced at S/.72. The waiter mentioned it would be slightly more expensive due to the size of the fish, and I agreed. However, I was shocked when I was charged a seafood parrilla for S/.159! When I questioned the waiter, he insisted that was the correct price and I had to pay. This is clearly a scam!
