AFC; Kentucky boarded the wrong Angeles but continued anyway.
If you’re looking for a fancier yet local version go to Kentucky for your carvings. You might as well go to Angeles Fried Chicken, located in Angeles City, Pampanga at Marlim Ave. In this review, it will be quite brutally honest. So my dear regulars, or fanatics of this franchise, I might as well give advance apologies.
Going through, the ambiance is quite nice, as it’s similar to famous fast-paced well-established franchises with familiar services and offers. The place was quite dim-lit and air-conditioned as I entered the premises. Additionally, the staff is all dressed up in common attire for servers. Pristine white long sleeves paired with black matte bowtie, and slacks and the cherry on top some lovely dark shoes. if I can test it, the interior has this essence of being a bit of soundproofing, in the end, enhances your focus with the vibe of the establishment, company (if you have one), and of course the food.
Now speaking of the main show of this review, the food. Forewarn, I will be quite blunt and truthful. The price was a bit steep but reasonable. For that day as a first-timer, I spent below Php 600, and what I expected was the price for this type of restos. The price was quite justified for the serving was quite decent, especially for the omelet I ordered. Now for the texture and flavors. My oh my, let's begin with the name of this franchise, the fried chicken. It’s decent enough, not too salty or oily. Just a tad bit dry for my preference, and that size of it. For context, I ordered their value meal, titled “the snack”, and the chicken was common-sized. The ones you can buy from the farmers or wet market here in the Philippines. Now what was the show stopper of my experience with this restaurant was the Spanish Omellet accompanied with some classic bread buns and a portion of salted butter. It was quite delectable, it was stuffed with the following based on my experience, tomato sauce, bell pepper bits, shrimp, ham, cheese, and beans, quite marvelous. Best paired with a rice meal. Now the bread and butter, literally, my of my that did the hard carry for this dining experience of mine. This was I can say the desert on top.
Now the overall rating for this store is on a scale of 5. As common 5 being the best. Vibe and Ambiance; 4 to 5, Pricing and Portion; 4 to 5, Flavors and texture; 3.5 to 5. Overall score, not being accurate with the mathematics, just overall personal suggestion; 4 to 5. I could only suggest that they can make their chicken a tad bit more juicer and more impactful with flavors. Then the rating could even...
Read moreTechnically the one of the oldest restaurants in Angeles City. Angeles Fried Chicken or known as AFC. This one is already an institution itself. We came to the place past 9pm which is an hour before its closing time. Place is dimmed so you can feel that romantic setting which is still the same since the 90’s. Anyways we had their Lunch set which consists of 3 pcs chicken, choice of roll or rice and 1 side and their awesome coleslaw. We also ordered their famous cheeseburger. This is not your usual cheeseburger. Their patty is stuffed which will delight their frequent American customers. Staff are accomodating. Cakes are also available. Cash and Card payments are accepted. Parking is kind of hard on peak hours. Will still frequent this place...
Read moreHow this place has been in business this long boggles the mind. Especially now that Junkie Bee has basically taken over the fried chicken game in the Philippines. I had banned this place for 10 years or so then said to myself well let's give it another try and literally nothing changed! It's still the same old greasy gross chicken with bad service and tons of flies bothering you. They forgot to bring my onion rings so after finishing my meal and just wanting to leave they then bought them out. This place sucks bad. This time it's a permanent ban...
