Cactus Jack is located in the lobby of the Best Western Hotel on McArthur Blvd. Very clean and secure lobby area. I come to Angeles to visit family and friends every couple of years. This restaurant is an attempt by Best Western to bring Western food into Angeles. It was an ok attempt but if you have ever had authentic BBQ you will be sadly disappointed. The best steak in a Steakhouse Is the Porter house steak period This has the filet and ribeye steak on each side. Unfortunately they charge 75 USD for only the filet side and it is cut up into chunks over well done. Pictures attached. The brisket was dry and sliced incorrectly with the grain causing a chewy mess. No smoke flavor on any of the meat! I'll blame Best Western and not the staff for this. Poor training and products. Having owned restaurants and growing up in the industry its very apparent. The Good side; the Filipino food is good. BUT typically not what we came for. We had a party of 10 and ordered a mixture of items. Stay away from the grilled prawns. Way overcooked with shell on, making them peel and eat shrimp! You peel off the grilling! So dry and tasteless. Sisig was good although small serving. I expect it to be more on the spicy side, this is not. My scotch was watered down straight from the bottle. I'm a scotch drinker and when you can't smell the smoky peat from a single malt, something is wrong. I added some pics if you want to go, but not a place I recommend for the price and quality. The staff was great and accommodating, atmosphere was good too, BUT YOU CANT...
Read moreI normally don’t write reviews but I just have to give props to this place. It may look like your average neighborhood smokehouse, but Cactus Jack is anything but.
The place is less than a year old but already my partner and I have been there a couple of times. The staff were friendly and attentive, always pouring water before it gets to the bottom. During our first visit, the F&B manager came to our table and was passionate to talked about the concept of the place and how he wants the best out of all his staff.
And true enough, the experience gets better every time we go. Especially since we’ve been looking for a decent rib place for ages and this is probably one of the best places. Probably exceeding any other of the rib places we’ve been to in Manila.
The slow cooked meat falls off the bones, which you could try with their 3 homemade sauces. The servings are quite generous so it’s best to go with a big group so you could order and share the different dishes from their menu. All their meats are USDA which is perfect. But their buffalo wings are excellent too, to the point where you don’t want to share them.
Anyway, be sure your are not on diet if you are...
Read moreHigh Quality BBQ at it's finest; at resonable prices. A Big menu with lots of appetizers and main entrees; the calamari is perfection! Loved the bbq ribs and pulled pork; the original bbq sauced has a nice tang to it. Corn on the cob, mashed potatoes and french fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Two menu misses were the pork chop and texas toast; the pork chop was big, but unfortunately dry. The other.opportunity was the Texas toast; need to rethink how long cooked and adding butter to make it more appealing. Customer Service was great with a friendly team of professionals. The dining room was big with a variety of seating options; free wifi and big tv monitors. CR was clean and stocked with soap and paper towels. Dine in and take out; the menu has meals for one, for sharing and even bundles for the whole family. I was happy to find out that they have gift certificates available. Will I return; YES .... it...
