Fresh off a get-together with my partner’s work colleagues, we headed to Lala Garden Cafe. The place boasts good interior design and a lot of space for solo diners or big groups. They even have a pet-friendly area so you can bring your pets while enjoying the atmosphere and vibes.
We ordered the following:
Choco Bread (₱150) A lot of layers — overall, it was sweet, tart, creamy, and crunchy. The bread was fluffy, light, and airy. The cherry and strawberry were tart and sour, which cut through the richness of the chocolate, cream, marshmallow, and cookie.
Brunch B (₱420) w/ Banana Latte (₱+20) / Brunch B comes with herbed chicken breast, toast bread, sunny side up egg, bacon, hashbrown, fruits, and salad. Served with garlic sauce, jam, and ketchup. The herbed chicken breast was aromatic, moist, and savory. Thoroughly enjoyed it on its own. Slightly buttered toast bread was okay, but the jam elevated it — tart and not too sweet, which I liked. The bacon was on the leaner side with less fat. Portion size was around 2 to 3 strips. The hashbrown was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Added a satisfying crunch. The salad was fresh and had a nice kick. Even better when mixed with the garlic sauce. / The Banana Latte was okay. The espresso didn’t have a kick, but the banana flavor wasn’t overshadowed. / The egg was so-so, nothing to rave about. The orange slices were disappointing — watered down with no citrus taste.
Iced Spanish Latte (₱180) Tons of milk, but overall the taste wasn’t as milky as it looked. The espresso was disappointing — sour as my partner tasted.
The food and pastries were good and worth the price, especially with the variety and portions served. However, the drinks didn’t meet expectations, with both coffee options falling short in flavor. Overall, it feels like you’re mostly paying for the ambiance — a spacious interior, well-designed areas for photos, and a pet-friendly environment.

Read moreThe ambiance on this cafe looks good and it is very spacious. Very Instagramable as they say. If you like to take pictures and show off your swag, this is the place for you. However, you need to think twice if you want to unwind, relax, or take a breather. The place, since it is new and still being hyped, has lots of people, too many actually; it does not feel that crowded though because of how they laid out the floor plan of the cafe. There is even a garden with fountains right smack in the middle. But due to the hype, which is good for the establishment I believe, has a lot of customers, so peace and quiet is out of the question here. But if you like the buzz of the crowd, this is the place to be. Droves and droves of people come here. But due to this, for them to take your order, you have to be in line for almost 1 hour; poor customer management on that part. The food is good, the drinks are tasty and properly concocted. Pricing for their menu is on the upper middle class to the lower upper class spectrum. Not too affordable but not uber expensive.
If you enjoy seeing the It crowd, be in the hippest location in town with a picturesque scenery, decent food and drinks, like to take lots of pictures, don't mind waiting too much, then this place is for you. But if you hate long queues and likes peace and quiet, then I suggest you find a different one.
Over all, you need to give this place a try just for the sake of experience. You either love it or hate it. But personally, I would say that it is a decent place but with poor customer management, has a friendly staff but a bit slow, pretty decent food and drinks but has a hefty pricing point, a social media haven, though too...
