Terrible dining experience. Terrible service.
Ordered their overpriced and overhyped Chuleta around 640pm. Also ordered their Sopa de Ajo. Meh to say the least. More batchoy than sopa de ajo. It was diluted and devoid of any meat.
The pharma lecture ended at 8pm. The damn friend porkchop hasn't arrived yet and my seatmates were joking if whether the pork was still being slaughtered fresh from the market. After much complaining to the waitstaff and asking if it can be cancelled, the entree miraculously arrived 830pm. Lol. At that time I was hangry already. 50% hungry 50% angry. I mean I could have gone home already after the lecture but no, I had to wait for 30mins for it. Instead of eating it, I decided to bring it home.
I was hoping for something wow considering the 2 hours of delay. Instead I was given this sad looking and lackluster fried porkchop with a miniscule amount of greens and a passable serving of mashed potatoes. It tasted ordinary bordering on meh. It was bland, tasteless and lacked sauce or seasoning to round out the taste.
Compounding the infuriating and inordinate delay, this dining experience steered into negative territory.
Not recommended. Service was unforgivably slow. No apologies from the staff. Overhyped and overpriced. Better service and food choices...
Read moreWonderful Spanish restaurant by Dos Mestizos of Boracay. Biggest knock as per other reviews is that this place is expensive and the portions are small. Having just ate there I think both are not true. Value for money is on point and for the quality I believe it's even a great deal. There is more things that I like than didn't like and this place is a definite place to come back to when in town. First home run was the Bogsbrew IPA on Tap for 100 pesos per mug was so refreshing and paired great with the creamy baked oysters. The baked chicken with garlic which is good for two was delicious. My favorite was the Paella Negra with a well done Soccarat is one of the best I've had in the entire Philippines. Seriously, a lot of people here have never tasted what an authentic Paella should taste like and this one comes close to what we've had in Valencia, Spain. Finally the space is very well done. Ok, if you compare it to an inasal joint it's obviously expensive and their portion aren't like and American greasy spoon, but if you're willing to treat yourself to a great experience this will be...
Read moreThe best places to eat have never been a title reserved for malls. While still a couple of days young since opening, azucarera has already managed to offer glimpses of its soon to be legendary offerings. From the discreet Bacolodnon take on Spanish dishes to the negrense envisioned dining venue, I thought it to be a refreshing and welcoming experience to the already impressive number of iconic restaurants in the city... as opposed to the institutionalized, overrated and commercially marketed restos in malls. Bacolod's Azucarera definitely deserves a number of takes in the years to come. When in Bacolod, the locals know...
