Baguio is a place where we never run out of places to chill... and here is an addition to the list - HOUSE OF YOGURT LOVERS by Calajo. As you'd expect, this new resto would offer the best yogurt in town and yes, I do agree. The yogurt here is tangy (the authentic yoghurt taste is sour, rather than sweet) and definitely healthy. Now if you are not a fan or that yogurt-sour taste, there is a variety of toppings to choose from - ranging from real fruits to fruit preservatives to cereals to syrups - and so to balance out the flavour, also making the experience all the more interesting. π
But wait.. There is more! The place does not sell yogurts alone. There is a cozy nook at the 2nd floor where you can order more than just yogurt. The menu offers a wide variety of mouth-watering dishes - there are rice meals, soups, sandwiches, quesadilla, potato dishes, cakes and a variety of hot and cold drinks (madaming pagpipilian). And the best part is the ambiance - there is that "Baguio feel" the moment you step into the shop, and then the view of pines trees peeping behind the thick fog add to the effect. π²π³π²
Another cool thing about this resto is that the prices are reasonable, considering the food is fresh and the dishes had the warmth of home-made food. It truly was a pleasant dining experience. πππππ
The staff is great too. Everyone was polite and efficient. To top it all, parking is not a problem... I am definitely recommending this place π
And before I forget, allow me to mention that H.O.Y. does have a pasalubong shop where you can purchase locally made jams, bread, wines and organic produce. The products are not the typical "mines view pasalubong" stuff - the quality and prices are much much much better here. On this end, don't just take my word for it; you have to check this place out and see what I mean π
H.O.Y.. Nakarating ka na ba dito? Sa Baguio mo lang ito matitikman... Mag YOLO ka na....
Β Β Β Read moreBEWARE !!! This place may have lots of positive reviews from tourists here on google, but if you are a local - BEWARE. Once you are a regular, the staff expect you to understand their personal promblems and forgive their many repeated inefficiencies and will even subject you to "intentional delays" and discourtesies even if you've wracked up thousands upon thousands of dine in and take out food orders with much generous tip giving. Imagine a dark night in driving wind swept rain, you rush in to place your order at the counter at 6.30 p.m. and you are told by the "very casual and uncaring old lady" : "ay wala na po. Serado na po ang kitchen. Masasakit po ang tiyan ng lahat ng staff namin". "eh bakit hindi sinabi sa akin ng guard habang nagpa-park pa lang ako", I protested. She simply shrugged. That was in October last year. Last night again, while having yoghurt there with a friend, I followed up with my order for butterflied pork chops, because it had been 30 minutes since I placed the order. I was non-chalantly dismissed by the same old lady "maraming nauna sa inyo eh"... THERE WERE ONLY 2 TABLES OF AN ESTIMATED 4 PEOPLE EACH. I commented that the service was steadily deteriorating at this branch of Calajo. Paying now at the counter, a young waitress approached who was obviously asked to ask me what my name was. Are these staff now trying to issue me veiled threats now that I have made a simple comment about their...

It has limited parking so take note when you come here. The store is downstairs with the yogurt bar, the restaurant is one level up, and there are rooms in the 2nd floor and other parts of the property.
We started off with yogurt topped with fresh mangoes and lychees, choco chips, granola, and butterscotch syrup. My Dad ordered the same except topped it off with vanilla syrup. Then we ordered the buffalo wings (a dozen - half with cheese and half without), dokto fries (sweet potato), pumpkin soup, sardine laing pasta, sizzling bangus a la pobre, and fruity carrot with ginger.
The food quality was excellent except that the wings were very small and not much meat, unlike those in the U.S.
It was mainly April and Rhanz who served us and they did a great job. Lunch cost us about Php 1,100 ($22) for 4 people and included senior citizen's discount.
It had gotten rainy and foggy so we couldn't enjoy the view as much. We headed downstairs to check out all the goodies. We ended up buying a guyabano and papaya jam and 2 of the muscovado sugar packs.
This should be included in your stop while in Baguio! Because of the location from Manila, best to come here as you get into Baguio or as you head...
