Ample parking space and a log cabin style building make for a great facade.

I used to love Sizzling Plate for its affordable and straightforward menu, its fast service, and their consistency.

At 419 pesos for their most expensive steak, the australian porterhouse is thin, chewy (ordered medium rare, shifted and lifted the steak from the sizzling plate, of course), and bland. It reminds you of the standard food court sizzling fare, which although decent, costs 4x less expensive than this. The vegetables, although oily, are thick and juicy (fresh from Baguio!). The gravy is watered down. It's good that you have at least 6 types of condiments per table to save your food (see photo) - the cheapest hot sauce and worcestershire sauce you can buy, salt, pepper, Maggi Savor, and a Del Monte ketchup. The free soup tastes...vague (chicken noodle?). The buttered rice is sour (sign that it was left at room temperature for too long).

Looking past the food: The sizzling plate is cracked on two sides, the wood block it sits upon is crusty, sticky, and mired with black sludge. Despite the chewyness of the steak, it's hard to use the steak knife because both knives given to us show significant wear in their plastic handles (burn marks, and the whole handle is fuzzy and sticky).

There was one new waiter during our visit that was fast and attentive, hence our order got received promptly. Unfortunately, the rest are generally not attentive. The bill arrived longer than our food did, probably because they manually log the details in a logbook instead of making you just sign on the receipt (may be an LGU thing, but inefficient nonetheless).

It's still cheap, and the menu is straightforward. But if you're only in Baguio a few times a year, it's best to steer clear and spend your time trying other places. The place clearly needs a refresh in terms of quality...

We had a very very very bad experience with this restaurant in SM Baguio last November 16, 2021. We ordered for porterhouses and it really was so hard. Almost like eating a "rubber". We called the attention of the waiter and complained on it and eventually we requested for the supervisor/manager.

When the woman supervisor came to our table, her actions were very rude and apprehensive at the same time. We tried to explain to her the porterhouse was hard and somewhat feels like a "rubberized" meat, she replied: It is the responsibility of their "bookeeping"...

So, we told her that she must monitor the quality of their meat supplies. And she became rude and she sarcastically said that its not her issue at all and cannot monitor it. And that she even accused that we were angry. The CCTV shall prove that otherwise though. We were just explaining that she must not be angry to us because we are customers calling their attention on their poor quality meat and service.

She offered to not let us pay the porterhouses, but we declined and paid it. She is very very rude. She sure have anger management issues. She seems to think that customers complaints are not welcome and she will "attack" customers with her rudeness and sarcasm. On our way out of their SM Baguio branch, the woman supervisor was staring at us with sharpness and feistiness in her eyes. She may have a really bad day going to work that day or it could either be her natural character.

We called their main branch and narrated the incident that transpired and requested an update on their actions about the incident and their arrogant, sarcastic and smirking woman supervisor at their SM Baguio Branch, but...

Service - ❌❌❌ Food - ❓❓❓ Price - ❓❓❓

August 10, 2022 around 1pm we went to this place, at first we were so excited to dine in here because we thought that their food and service will be on its apex but it turns out it's the opposite. 😥 Upon entering the vicinity we saw a lot of guests most of them were eating their lunch, we try to look for a receptionist but no one approached us 😅 so we helped ourselves to be seated. We waited for about 2-3 minutes but it seems that the servers here were making themselves "look" busy even though they were just walking around the restaurant, some of my friends tried to ask the server to clean the table but they keep on ignoring us, after a few minutes a server approached our table and started cleaning it, then again we waited for a couple of minutes 😅. After a few minutes we tried to ask for the menu but the two servers in the area were just walking around and keeping themselves "looking" busy then another server approached the table besides our table and suddenly that server took the pepper shaker on our table without asking any permission and gave it to the other table and the worst part was that the server ignored us! So we have decided to just leave the restaurant. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE, VERY BAD SERVICE. To the management please train your employees again specifically in customer service! F.y.i , we have sufficient experience in the hospitality industry , we know how to distinguish, a great service from a...

Went there for lunch on a midweek. The star are the solo sizzling plate meal that comes with java rice. They offer complimentary soup (got the chicken noodle soup on that day). Now on to the steak, its more pan seared and not over the grill. So don't expect any char with their steak. They will ask about the doneness but I think it wont really matter since the cut is less than half inch and is served on the sizzling plate. The steak is on the gummy side but goes well with their gravy. Btw, I had the ribeye. Overall, its a decent sizzling plate steakhouse which is a little notch elevated from the usual sizzling plate restos. Would I recommend? For a decent sizzling steak meal, then yes.
