Was passing by this road upon passing by Dagupan when we saw their signage. We googled their name and read reviews then gave them a try for ourselves.
They DO NOT ALLOW PETS btw. We had a small breed dog with diaper with us and she was not allowed inside. In fairness to them they allowed her to stay outside.
Ordered and it took quite some time to get served. Which was fine if their AC wasn't too hot. Their AC was set on 28 degrees 😳 in this weather so it's like no AC at all.
Food came and their Oysters in Butter 240 pesos? was divine. It was my favorite out of everything we ordered.
Fried bangus belly was fried a bit too much it was a little dry. Inihaw na talong served with tomato and onions and bagoong was alright. We felt some itchiness in the tongue after eating this. Kare kare was fine. Fresh lumpia was so so. The sauce was already unappetizing upon serving. The color was off. Their rice was malata by the way. We asked for it to be changed then they came back with the same texture. We didn't bother anymore. Buffalo chicken wings was pathetic.
Problem was when during payment we checked the bill first and the price of their fresh lumpia in the menu was 180pesos but in their bill it's at 240pesos. We told them we are sorry but Price Tag Law. They should change it. They did after waiting for some time.
Overall it was an ok experience. Good to try...
Read moreHappened to be in Dagupan and havent been here for 30 years. First thing I did was search for was a good restaurant and reaquaint myself with the local food. Lo and behold... Matutina kept popping up in my searches so this place oughta be good. Location is easy to find and parking is a breeze. Its packed even during off peak hours during weekdays. Getting a table took a while. Staff is efficient and service is quite good. Food took an average of 15 mins to come out. Quality and plating is good. Serving size is good for 2 or maybe 3. Bangus is yummy as expected but prefer it without the mushroom sauce as the fish itself grilled is tasty on its own. Pork Dinakdakan or Warekwarek is interesting. Seems like sisig but its not. Pig's brain instead of liver is used. It has a bigger cut, creamy sauce with a little kick from the chili peppers. Best paired with plain rice. Halo-Halo Special is a sweet dessert you absolutely deserve after a long drive. Simple but superior ingredients. Ambiance and interiors is more on the rustic side. Nothing fancy but functional. Place is good for large groups. Definitely will be back here again with reinforcement so I can check out the other food. "Aroen so...

I am driving on De Venecia road, Dagupan City at 8:30pm when suddenly a flashlight shone in front of me that I slowed down and hit my brakes hard. It caused me to come to a full stop and a part of my motorcycle was pulled out, causing my fuel to leak. It turned out that it was the on-duty guard who shone his flashlight at me while I was driving even though I was still far away because he had someone to assist out of the restaurant. He didn't even help me. I wasn't with anyone, my home was pretty far and it was night time already. Thank God, I'm safe. But I hope YOU will take action about this because this might cause an accident. Not only to drivers. The insensitive action of the on-duty guard might also hurt others or the guard himself might get hit because of his misuse of the...
