CAWL STEAKHOUSE (Chef Anica Whisk & Ladle) — Restaurant in General Santos

Loved the steak (Porterhouse steak). The price was right for two of us who can manage to consume 1 serving. Medium rare was tender, chewy but won't make your jaw hurt, and tasty. Walang langsa or gamey taste. Sherep. The four of us finished our steaks without leaving anything on the plate. Haha And all that for 489. Wow.

The ube halohalo was awesome too. Naghatihati nga lang kami 4 sa isa. If we were less full, tag-iisa siguro kami. Saksakan ng ice cream at ube halaya. Shereeeep, pampalamig.

Loved the mashed potatoes... Just thinking about it makes me wanna go back soon. The gravy is awesome.

The mushroom soup tasted slightly burnt but I guess ganun talaga dapat lasa nun. Maybe, smokey ang mas accurate na term. Haha 😂

The only food item we least liked was the garden salad. I'm not sure it's the alamang/bagoong that was the turn-off but I heard 2 of my companions not eat more of it after a few bites so I avoided it.

The set menu was so-so given di pala palasweet timplada ang friends ko. The fries were good but we probably would have loved another sauce for the chicken like garlic. Sweet and sour was more on the sweet side. This is not to say it tasted awful BUT a matter of preference.

However, the rest of our orders including the free salad with a different dressing (lemony, zesty, sweet, yellow) was awesome and tasty. We did not regret travelling all over from Polomolok on a weekday and taking our visiting friend over there because CAWL did not disappoint. We will come back to try the rest of the menu...

Our first time to visit this steakhouse. It's quite small, our family of 15 almost occupied the whole dining area when we visited on a Sunday for lunch.

We ordered steak, rice meals and pasta. Their kitchen is also small, that's why it took time for all our orders to be served, considering that we were the only guests at that time. Some of our orders were not available or they have ran out of stocks.

The food (rice meals and pasta) were ok, although most are on the salty side. Could be adjusted. The steak we ordered were quite bitter because of the grill marks. I suspect the marks were burnt. And the meat was not warm when served. Plating and presentation were commendable though.

The ambiance needs to be enhanced. The resto interiors were drab and uninteresting. It has to do a lot of improvements if it wants to be...

Place - Not too big. Not too small. Just enough to cater group diners like family and circle of friends.

Staffs - The receptionist/cashier is very sweet and approachable. She can handle customers very well. That's a thumbs up.
