ENDLESS SURPRISES WITH QUIRKY GOURMET COMFORT FOOD CDO's top foodie here! THE SPACE: La Fang is a nice enough little space, with barely any parking. The decor is industrial and rusty steel. The atmosphere is pleasant and not too loud. The bathroom... the men's room (which I have never mentioned before in a review, but have to here) is completely awful, broken, and insultingly neglected. The chairs are a tad uncomfortable. The tableware, plates, silverware, and glassware are all good quality. Overall, you can see that a bit of effort was put into the space, the toilets notwithstanding. THE SPACE: 2 stars. THE FOOD: We tried the Dynamite Prawn (P350), which was sweet with a bit of spiciness with a buttermilk ranch. Next we tried the Commando Fries (P330), which were served in La Fang's signature fashion, which is a large glass set on a ceramic plate, and then the serving is piled into the glass and way over the top to cascade down onto the plate, like an explosion of food. The fries were just amazing. After that was the Pink Pasta (P430), served in the same manner, which reminded me of a Penne Vodka, but a bit more cheesy. Absolutely fantastic and a huge serving. After that was Beef Rendang (P590), a large portion of slow-cooked beef in a beautiful spicy, nutty sauce. finally, we tried the Chicken Musakhan, which was a mild chicken served on a smokey rice. We also had a fun selection of fruity and chocolaty drinks with whipped cream. The food that we had was just absolutely amazing all around. The Pink Pasta and the Commando Fries tie for the top choice, but the Beef Rendang is a very close second. THE FOOD: 5 stars. THE SERVICE: The wait staff was attentive and very accommodating. We found them professional and knowledgeable about the dishes. I cannot speak to how well the restaurant does under full capacity since we were there early on a Tuesday night while passing through town, but table maintenance was good, and no mistakes were made. There was no upselling or reselling. THE SERVICE: 4 stars. THE PRICE: I found the prices to be very reasonable, especially when you factor in just how large the servings were for most of the dishes. I wouldn't go so far as to give it a 5-star "how can their prices be this low?" rating, but I certainly will give it the 4-star "I can't imagine this food selling for a lower price" rating. THE PRICE: 4 stars. SUMMARY: La Fang is a fantastic restaurant that serves a lot of fun gourmet comfort food in generous portions. It makes an effort to provide a memorable dining experience and they succeed with their delicious recipes and whimsical presentation. They could definitely use an upgrade to a better facility with more parking, but I do like the industrial vibe they have. La Fang is highly recommended. TOTAL: 15/20 (4 stars)

We had a great dining experience at La Fang Homegrown Gourmet. We ordered the Angus Beef Rendang, Kung Pao Chicken, and Stir-Fried Bangus with Tofu and Tausi—everything was flavorful and well-prepared. Each dish brought its own distinct taste without overpowering the others, making for a satisfying and balanced meal. The ambiance of the place was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed lunch or dinner. Service was attentive and friendly, which added to the overall positive vibe. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for delicious, well-executed dishes in a comfortable setting.
