CARDAMUM’S HONEST REVIEW:
LOCATION: It’s located in Lipa-Tiaong Road. Besides Miracle Heights Subdivision opposite Carmelite’s Monastery, Mary Mediatrix of All Grace and adjacent to 7/11 Store. Cardamum’s is just a KIOSK. Convenient parking space is available.
CHICKEN BIRYANI: Authentic Mughlai Biryani. Take note that there are so many different types of Chicken Biryani, depending on country & region. So do not be quick to judge that their version is NOT Authentic. Unless you have tasted all its different versions. Their Biryani is flavorful at hindi tinipid sa Spices. KUMPLETO-RECADOS kumbaga! Serves with 1 Pc Paratha (Buttered) and Mint Chutney but unfortunately, it was not available when I ordered but they gave me Raita for replacement. Their Raita was good too! DUM ALOO: I love that they used Marble Potato for this! They usually use big ones in Karachi & Lahore. 2nd Best Dum Aloo I tasted in my life. It can compete with the one I tasted in Kashmir or Jammu. BUTTERED CHICKEN: This is the BEST BUTTERED CHICKEN I had in the Philippines! Second best to my favorite Indian Restaurant: Mughal Mahal in Sharq. It was so good that I ordered another serving to stock at home. VEGETABLE SAMOSA: Though it was good, I just personally prefer small samosa.
SUGGESTION: It would ve better if you can have a small restaurant where people can sit & enjoy your food. It was pouring rain when I came and have to eat inside the car, which is not convenient at all. Though the Biryani Rice is perfect, the Chicken is not that tender. Matigas pa sya. Everything was pre-packed in a Plastic Container. They would just heat it up in a Microwave as you order. It would have been much better if the food is heated Stove-top. Pagdating sa bahay, naturally malamig na ang Paratha at medyo matigas na ito. That’s the difference between having a real restaurant and a food kiosk.
Hopefully, you can expand your menu. Maybe add Chicken Tikka Masala, Keema Paratha, Aloo Gobi, Dal, Palak Paneer, Tandoori Chicken and Buttered Nan. Samahan nyo narin ng Methi Lassi for drinks.
PORTION: Portion is good enough for 1 person. They also have Bundles for Chicken Biryani. For me, the portion is just perfect. Add nalang ng Paratha kung bitin sa isang piraso. VALUE FOR MONEY: While some may find it quite expensive, one should also consider the cost of its raw ingredients. Bear in mind that these spices are imported & very expensive. So, mamili ka: Gusto mo ng Quality, Good & Authentic Indian Food o gusto mo yung mura lang pero hindi masarap?! Your choice.
FOOT NOTE: Mabait yung staff sa kiosk. I wasn’t able to get her name but she’s very professional, she knows the food she’s selling (knowledgeable) and very COURTEOUS!
Masarap din ang Thai Milk Tea nila. Not too heavy on the cream, perfect sweetness & used quality Thai Tea.
LAST THING: I find this better than the ones I had in India and Pakistan kase ang hilig nilang gumamit ng Ghee or Lard duon. To the point na lumalangoy ito sa langis! This one’s healthier, less oil! It’s hard to believe na Pinay ang...
