Pancake House Paseo de Magallanes — Restaurant in Makati

Was looking for a spot to write (for catchup work on a Sunday wah!), then decided to go for early dinner instead. Paseo de Magallanes is always a good choice -- highly accessible along the South Superhighway, enough restos and cuisined to choose from, relatively quieter than the mall chains, and ample parking spaces. It also has a supermarket, nails and spa, banks and drive thru options.

Pancake House is located at a corner beside one parking entrance. They have indoor seating with good ventilation and vintage diner feels. Their outdoor tables are great for IG, especially during dusk and nighttime.

The food is as expected of Pancake House -- good quality, lots of choices including healthy veggie and fruity options.

For improvement is the speed of service and attention to customers. Understand there are times the resto has high foot traffic, including delivery orders, so best to add a few minutes to the waiting time when advising dine in customers. Extremely slow service and you have to remind servers multiple times. Ordered the chicken fillet with mini waffles and the waffles were burnt; texture was like a hard crunchy cookie.

My mom (senior citizen) arrived later carrying a puppy in a box and we were told after a while that dogs aren't allowed inside. She said she'll order her food first, then she'd go outside since a friend was going to pick up the dog anyway. After she ordered, the waitress with glasses passive-aggressively asked "so dito ba iseserve yung food?". We didn't understand her question, so we asked "what??" and she kept repeating herself until she finally said "or kakain ba kayo sa labas?" She could've been straight to the point, at the very least LOL. Didn't bother arguing anymore so my mom just waited outside until the dog got picked up.

Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup was also bad, the cheese wasn't melted at all and the soup was super salty. Also took at least 20 minutes to come back with our bill even if there were barely any more customers around (around 2PM). Never eating in this...

I recently dined at Pancake House Magallanes after years of hesitation due to previous subpar experiences. However, I am thrilled to report that the restaurant exceeded my expectations this time around. Despite my initial reservations, the food quality was exceptional. We indulged in their Classic Pan Chicken with Golden Brown Waffle, Breaded Pork Special Set, and Roast Beef Special Set, and each dish was a delight to the taste buds. The chicken was perfectly cooked, the waffle was golden and crispy, and the pork and beef were tender and flavorful. The service was also top-notch, adding to the overall wonderful dining experience.
