It was very late night and we were looking for s place to eat. We came upon this small restaurant. It was open 24 hours a day. There were two staff who was preparing food and when we entered, they pointed us to their menu which was placed in the wall. They offer delicacies native to a region here in the Philippines.
Food was good and there are some choices. Sadly, they only serve soda, bottled calamansi juice and water (both bottled and service water).
The dining area is ok. There are some decorations but you can see the sign of aging. I can't tell about the temperature because it was late at night but I did see several electric fans that can help cool off the area in the afternoon
The staff was courteous and but it took some time before the food was served. I guess this is because they cook our food upon order.
Overall, I had a nice time eating there. The price was also affordable. I might come back from...
Read moreI was craving for Ilocano food so I was absolutely delighted when I saw that they had a dine in restaurant at Maysilo, Mandaluyong.
The longaniza was good but the pakbet was cooked with tomato paste/sauce instead of real tomatoes kaya the taste was off. (The longaniza with pakbet platter costs Php210. For me they should work on the pakbet because talagang the way it was cooked, hindi lasang lutong Ilocano. So for that quality, di worth yung Php210.)
The service was OK. There is ample seating for maybe 30 dine in customers. But the parking is limited. (Just 1 space in front of their restaurant/store.)
On the up side, you can buy frozen/packed longaniza and other Ilocano delicacies from their restaurant/shop at Maysilo, Mandaluyong, which is open 24 hours a day. So ikaw na lang magluto para sigurado na you get the...
Read moreI love eating at Farinas Ilocos Empanada. I have a few favorite branches, and they are all serving delicious empanadas. But this one in particular really made me think of their ingredients and food preparation. I ordered a box of 5 for takeout. All of the 5 empanadas disappointingly included shreded plastics. I thought they were part of the shreded vegetable. But out of curiosity, I collected all of them and checked them through a magnifying glass. Sadly, the small pieces are plastic!
To the owner and staff. Please check your empanadas thoroughly because not all of your customers can tolerate plastic in their digestive system. I won't include the pictures cause this might be a red flag to the sanitary inspection team to check out your resto. I am making this comment for you (store) to improve your food...
