The place was not busy but the dining area was full of loitering staff, which I suspect some were doing their OJT. While I understand it's a necessary part of the business, I wished they disclosed it and were given the choice to not be used as practice because it resulted in a poor dining experience.
We were a party of 6 that was seated at a table for 8. When I asked for the extra chairs to be removed to get extra space, a staff member removed it followed by audible giggling from the group.
They served our salad but did not provide salad plates and the salads came with regular forks instead of serving forks or tongs. We ended up using our dinner plate for the salad and after finishing the salad a staff member tried to bus our plates interrupting our conversation as if attempting to hide the mishap from their supervisor.
They served sinigang without bowls. We had to ask for bowls that they had to get from the back and polish behind the bar before dropping the stack on our table, where we had to ask the staff to hand them out.
One of the dishes we ordered arrived late after we had already finished eating and were chatting.
The large group of staff that loitered in the dining area was distracting with a combination of loud chatting and from time to time grouping together to observe our table.
The food was good and was the only saving grace of the day. We were so on guard with the staff that we even forgot to take the obligatory photos with our guests.
If this was an OJT shift, the supervisor in charge was not managing their charge properly, if they are full time staff, retraining is in order. I had hoped to fill out a survey before leaving but was not offered one so this review...
Read moreThe place is very fancy, and the prices are average for this kind of restaurant. We just stopped by for coffee and dessert. We had iced coffee and a banana split. The dessert was perfect for sharing; generous scoops of ice cream were very delicious. Coffees were nothing special—basic expresso with ice, milk, and caramel syrup.
We wanted to sit outside to enjoy the ambiance with all the firefly lights, but we had to ask them to turn them on for us before we left the place, just to see. I think it would have been nice if they did it on their own for the guests who chose to stay outside from the beginning. So, learn from our mistake and ask them to turn them on for you. After all, I believe this is the only "special" thing about this restaurant.
Staff was nice, a little bit cold; we already paid and were about to leave the place when we saw someone from the inside pointing at us desperately. He gave me the feeling that he thought we might have left without paying. It made me feel very uncomfortable. But I appreciated the fact that they told us that there are a lot of mosquitoes outside, and...

Ambiance 5/5 Me and the fam decided to explore the marikina food scene, delicere popped up as one of the nearest restaurant from our location, we were immediately drawn in to its "preskong" feel, cozy and inviting, seems like you would be dining inside a rustic banquet hall, one would have a battling thoughts if they would opt for the al fresco dining or the air conditioned hall.
Food 3/5 The seasoning of the tapa from the humble tapsilog would usually say a lot how the rest of the menu would be like.
The buffalo wings and fries was alright. The kiddo loved the meatball pasta, there was that, but then again their Lengua was really tender, but it was a little bland.
Then there's the delicere pizza, it had a thin and crunchy crust, perfect amount of toppings, plus the delicious marriage of gooey cheese, proteins and vegetables!
All in all the food was not bad, but.. it was not exceptional either.
Service 4/5 Very courteous staff, they're really great with kids!
Will the fam be back? Maybe,...
