Filipino comfort food you’ll want every Sunday If you’re tired of the usual commercial restaurant scene, Marikina’s got a solid lineup of restaurants that offer something more homey, and this spot is definitely one of them. Perfect for weekend family hangouts, especially when you’re craving something familiar but satisfying. We tried three dishes, and honestly, they were all good. The only minor let down was the pancit being a bit underseasoned, but still decent. Everything else was pretty good. Now, that crispy dinuguan hit my palate good. You’ll get those crunchy pieces of fatty pork flavor that hits just right. I’m absolutely getting that again next time. The tofu sisig was nice, too—definitely great for elders who don’t want to spike their blood pressure. The vibe was great, too. Spacious enough for both small and big families, and the parking can fit around 8–10 cars, which is always good. Service was pretty efficient, even with a lean crew. Props to them for keeping things smooth. All in all, a really good dining experience. Worth the drive.

Pepetons Grill in Marikina is a hidden gem that I recently had the pleasure of discovering. The restaurant is known for its Kapalmuks, a dish that is not commonly found in other Filipino restaurants. Kapalmuks are made from oxtail, which is slow-cooked until it is tender and flavorful. The Kapalmuks at Pepetons Grill are simply divine. The meat is so tender that it falls off the bone, and the sauce is rich and savory. I would highly recommend Pepetons Grill to anyone looking for a great Filipino restaurant in Marikina. The restaurant is especially worth checking out if you have never tried Kapalmuks before. You won't be disappointed!

Generous food servings at a reasonable price. With a nice and quiet ambiance. They had ample parking space. A smoking section at the side. The staff is very attentive and well mannered. The grilled squid was big, almost a kilogram, a bit chewy but not dry. The grilled tuna panga was moist and flavorful. I wanted to try their fried pork head and crispy pata but we were on a no meat weekend, but it looked really good.
