I practically grew up in Silay and have come to love El Ideal because of the variety of food that it serves and sells. I even bring them back a lot to Singapore where I am based, like what I did when I went there last February. Bought a lot, a pack or two for almost all of what they sell, in fact, i just ate the cookies with raisin. Unfortunately, i just bite into one and wondering how come something is not easy to munch or grind. To my horror, i was eating a black screw, like M2 x 10mm long! This could be. a foreign body if I swallowed this! El Ideal needs to be vigilant in ensuring safety and hygiene in its cooking process. They can start with cookies with raisin, pinpoint the possibility where it came from and create measure to prevent a repeat. This is something serious that needs to...

A visit to the heritage city of Silay wouldn't be complete without a stop at El Ideal, the town's oldest bakery, nestled in an ancestral building along the highway. Stepping inside, you're instantly transported back in time by its captivating ambiance—a perfect complement to your Silay adventure.

The bakery's shelves are laden with a tempting variety of breads and pastries, with their renowned guapple pie being a standout. Though I was disappointed to find it unavailable during my visit, their apple pie proved to be a delightful consolation. The attentive staff was quick to assist, making the experience even more enjoyable.

El Ideal is an absolute must-visit! I can't wait to return to Silay City and finally savor that elusive...

After touring the Ancestral houses, we stopped by here to eat lunch. The place is also where you can get the famous guapple pie. Unfortunately, it was not in stock. We still tried their other pies such as the egg and pineapple pie. We liked the pineapple better. Since it's been raining, we ordered batchoy. The broth was good for the weather. It took a long time to prepare the food about 40 minutes for 2 batchoy and one rice meal.

I also bought a lot of pasalubong from this place. I only got to try them once I'm home and they were all good. I noticed that they don't automatically give an itemised receipt with our orders. The person at the cashier only told me the total. I had to explicitly ask for...

This is old family home. The facade retains the old look but inside was already renovated with into a modern resto. The smell though still retains that old, grandma home. Cinnamon and bread. I ordered their famous guapple pie. The pastry was crumbly, the filling is not that sweet ( just right!!) and was surprised of the fresh taste of the guava. The pieces are almost still crunchy. Indeed their best! I also ordered their bestseller breakfast of Chorizo pudpud. This is like the chorizo filling sinmered in tomato and oil for a long time. Tasted fresh but I am kind of looking for that smoky flavor of the meat and kind of missing that. I loved this resto. Worth a visit!
