PUESTO is a relatively new restaurant, but it has quickly become one of the Ozamiznons favorite food destinations. And it is easy to understand why.
The restaurant takes a modern twist to the juxtaposition look of classy and rustic-ranch styles. Undoubtedly one of the best looking restaurants. Hardwood dining sets and their high quality utensils, an option of four-sitter high stools, and comfortable cushioned seats, and booze, lots and lots of booze. From French wine to the classic American beers, to rum and whiskeys, the bar is a complete set of liquor heaven.
But the reason why it is so favorable? Of course, we can't leave their good food out. Their food choices are a surf and turf type of variety. Baby back ribs, calamares, a unique type of sizzling sisig, and some really banging sizzling squid. They have a certain finesse that keeps the customers happy and wanting more.
Basically, Puesto serves the basic menu for every Filipino, but their edge is the sophisticated experience you get as you dine. The service, the choice of liquor, and the plating of their dishes. Simply comfortable and leisurely. And if you care for some coffee, tea, and cake, go right down and visit Puesto Coffee with an equally pleasant experience
Fair warning however, there is no proper parking space for diners with cars. Major tip, park your car at the city hall grounds right in front of the restaurant. Also, service can get very slow on a fully-packed visit, but when your first order starts to arrive, everything will...

Architectural delights: The brightly-lit high ceiling and ceiling-to-floor glass walls and doors all add to an airy and cheery vibe to the interior. The extensive use of varnished hardwood for the tables and chairs, some of bar height, amplifies the place's coziness. The decorative iron grills protecting the windows and doors, done ornately, add character to Puesto. This place has many commendable architectural touches.
Gastronomic experience: Having dined at several restaurants in the city, I say confidently that the offerings at Puesto, albeit pricey, is good value for your money. Although the servings are rather smallish for a guy with a big appetite like me, the dishes we ordered were well presented and seasoned appropriately. However, the downside was waiting nearly 30 minutes to get our orders even though there were just very few customers. Taste and presentation are A minus; prompt service merits an F. But the server was polite and helpful.
By the way, the selections in the menu is decent. Would have loved to see more vegetable dishes on the list though.
By the way, we capped the night at Puesto with a visit to its coffee shop downstairs. That will be for...
Read moreRead moreLet's have a good and fair look at the place. Starting with the location: Pretty central, missing parking lot. Could do with some guidance to the place--sighn posts 7/10 Inside: Not given the appearance of an overloaded place. Clean and well looked after interieur. The shelves try to give it an "Continental" impression, very similar to the brandnew Rest. "Ma" in Bremen, Germany. The terrace could do with some natural deco. 8/10 Waiters and Assistance: Good to very good. Menu+Drinks servd: Decent and in the range of possibility (training background). Served rapidly, wine service needs training, considering the price asked for. 8/10 Quality of food served: Fresh ingrediance used, not oversalted, not too much glutamate used = aspecial "Thank You" for that. The presentation of the food has to be modernised as everywhere in Ozamis. 8/10 I would like to give the "Puesto" a very good but a defect Card- Machine is unacceptable in our days.....mistake of the Management!!!.... not the workforce. So a GOOD is fair. You will find hardly a better place in Ozamis.. Chef de...
