Flaming Bistro Many great restaurants are conceived to meet a special need or to fill a gap in dining experiences. This leads to unique dining delights. The Flaming Bistro goes further, farther, and better by combining skill, and expertise as well as creativity while adding a generous measure of passion to the recipe. The location is perfect, close to a major road but far enough away, so the open-air setting is not invaded by traffic noise. The restaurant decor shows a blend of styles and attention to detail setting it apart from other venues. The menu utilizes the best local foods while incorporating cooking styles and methods from near and far. This combination provides a dramatically attractive dining experience that includes great showmanship. Having personally tried several of the flaming dishes I can attest to not only the showmanship but the extreme quality of the foods. They also serve “Boogle Fight Dishes” these are made for a party of several guests to share. This local tradition is a dramatic expression of any true chef’s versatility and presentation skills. As far as the wines go, like other local fine eateries they struggle with serving wine at a correct temperature, however by reserving ahead and specifying your wine choice this can be easily over come. NOTEABLY: Unlike other restaurants of quality, they have prices that are extremely good. In short, this restaurant has my highest ratings and regards as well as my congratulations to the owner for the delight she has created.

Please don’t be fooled by the good reviews- it’s really not worth! The menu looks promising, but the food is not. We ordered the flamed marlin, which is served with rice and vegetables. The taste was not bad, but portion was one of the smallest I ever got in the Philippines- for a price of nearly 400 php. The rice was not even a small cup full. As I mentioned this, the waitress just said, this is standard and I can order another one extra if I pay. Also the other dishes we had, were quite small and too expensive for that. All juices are made of instant powder and much too expensive for that. The ambient looks nice, but music could be more decent. The place was also merely empty during the evening, although enough space. So people know already that it promises more, than it delivers!

The best dining in Philippines so far, spent here 1 week tasting Swedish master chef’s cuisine. If you are hungry, go for the Meaty or Seafood Boodle fight. If you want some fine dining and flaming experience, I recommend the Flaming marlin with Lemon dill sauce and garlic rice as a main course and don’t miss the desserts - Flaming pineapple or Flaming mango are the best. Taste that with fresh fruit shakes like Coconut buko, or with refreshing cocktails. Staff was great and helpful, atmosphere laid back like in a tropical garden, they play various styles of music, I enjoyed jazz the most. Payments with card were possible for extra 50 pesos, even Apple pay worked, which was really appreciated. Oh and the brewed coffee was also great. Highly recommended!
