Promising Food Hindered by Subpar Service
I recently dined at Fat Smoke BF Homes on two separate occasions, and my experience during both visits left me with mixed feelings. The restaurant's culinary offerings are undeniably delightful, yet the consistent issue with their service greatly overshadowed the positive aspects.
During my first visit, which took place around 3 months after their opening, the establishment was bustling on a Sunday evening. Sadly, the waiter assigned to our table seemed disinterested and unhelpful when taking our orders. The wait time for our food was nothing short of agonizing, as it took a staggering 1.5 hours for our meals to arrive. At that time, I chalked it up to teething problems associated with their soft opening.
With the hope of seeing them succeed after the challenges posed by the pandemic, I decided to give them a second chance. My recent visit was on a Sunday lunch with my family. Unfortunately, the service didn't show any marked improvement. The waiter, far from enthusiastic, informed us that a substantial portion of their pork-based menu items was unavailable. Despite the setback, we proceeded with our orders, only to be informed that our meals would take approximately 20-30 minutes to arrive.
However, 40 minutes passed with no sign of our orders, prompting me to inquire about the delay. The waiter's response indicated that our food wouldn't be served until the orders from earlier-seated tables were fulfilled. This revelation was quite disheartening. I attempted to maintain my composure and engage in conversation with my family while we waited. Finally, after an astonishing 1 hour and 9 minutes, our meals were presented.
I must commend the kitchen for their culinary prowess; the food was undeniably exceptional. Nonetheless, the shadow cast by the service lapses remained. The staff seemed to acknowledge the issue, as we were provided with complimentary steak rice as a gesture of goodwill from the kitchen. It's evident that Fat Smoke BF Homes holds great potential as a dining destination, yet their customer service, relations, time management, and inventory control need substantial improvements in order to...
Read moreWe really love barbecue and ribs so we chose a backyard barbecue wedding deviating from the usual catering food, so we searched high and low and the whole Metro Manila for the best ribs that can fit our objective theme. Thanked God, we came across Fat Smoke Bbq on Facebook, offering their carving station service. We were excited to try it for ourselves so we went to their restaurant and the rest is history! We have not gotten over the fact that the smoked ribs and beef shortplate were the fall off the bones type and sooo flavorful and juicy. The serving is just right and the side dishes really complemented the meats. After that meal, it’s a eureka moment for my wife and I, as we both knew that they should be serving those ribs in our wedding. On our 2nd visit, we brought my wife’s parents to taste test their food and they too loved it. Chef Laurenz was always responsive to our inquiries and he's very open for our inputs and ideas. We're so grateful he accepted our request for them to solely cater the wedding, and not just be a carving station. He's very hands on and even had an ocular visit to our venue, weeks before the wedding. Though it's a bit unconvetional to serve a barbecue style menu on a wedding, our guests were so pleased and gave us lots of positive feedbacks after. Even our wedding suppliers enjoyed their food also. They too loved the food and some wanted another round on the buffet. We're so thankful for the excellent service given to us by Fat Smoke and we can't wait to go back.

Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Fat Smoke, and it was an outstanding experience! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and warm, setting the perfect stage for our celebration of Mother’s Day. 💐
The real stars of the meal were the beef and pork ribs. They were absolutely fantastic—so tender that they practically fell off the bone! Each bite was bursting with flavor, making it clear that the chefs at Fat Smoke take great pride in their craft.
To top off the meal, we indulged in their cheesecake for dessert. It was the perfect sweet ending to a delicious feast! Creamy and rich, it had just the right amount of sweetness that left us wanting more.
A special shout-out goes to their new manager, Kevin. His service was impeccable; he was attentive, friendly, and truly made the experience feel special. Kevin's vibrant personality added character to the restaurant, which clearly reflects the welcoming environment Fat Smoke strives to create.
