Buglas Isla Café - Arcovia — Restaurant in Pasig

Located in Arcovia, Buglas Isla is quite accessible with available parking and a clean, new space that feels fresh and welcoming. The staff were all accommodating and pleasant, which added to the good dining experience. We ordered Binagoongan and Binakol, both dishes stood out for their authentic local flavor. The Binagoongan was especially interesting because they used ginamos instead of the usual bagoong, which you rarely find in Manila. For the Binakol, my partner (a big fan of tinola) really enjoyed it, flavorful, comforting, and well-balanced. They also offer a free bibingka when you avail of the Bibingka Lover Pass (which comes with other perks, you can check the details online). The bibingka was soft and tasty; though personally, I prefer mine with a slightly burnt, smoky edge. If there’s something to improve, I’d suggest using pork kasim for the Binagoongan for a more tender texture, and perhaps a little less fat. I was invited to a birthday lunch and did not do the ordering. The place was clean and the servers were very nice and accommodating. We ordered the - buglas Signature Pizza with cebu longaniza, chorizo, pineapple- so different from classic Italian pizza I’m used to . Although I’m not a fan, it was flavorful and everyone enjoyed it. There was this fancy centerpiece with rice, dried fish, mango salad, pork tocino, chicken plus others. There was extra side order of fish, lumpiang sariwa ( which I may say was very packed), chicken inasal, lechon kawali, perfectly steamed lapu-lapu . The side of sukang sinamak went well with everything fried. I liked the food presentation and the flavors. We were given bowls of sinigang soup as starters. And I think the dessert was the taho cheesecake which was surprisingly smooth and not so sweet. It was my first visit but I certainly would love to come back. If you’re a foodie like me, you’ll love this place! The menu has a fantastic selection of dishes, it offers a wide variety of options, and everything we tried was delicious. I especially loved the creative twists on classic dishes. I only had good comments about the food. This restaurant exceeded all my expectations.
