WORST LANDERS STORE, BAD MANAGEMENT, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AT MEMBERSHIP AREA, INEFFICIENT REGISTRATION - WILL GO BACK TO UPTC BRANCH
I don't know if it's because this store reopened after awhile - maybe they lost all experienced staff. The cashier and bagger at checkout for our lane were very slow, it took us almost 15mins to finish the transaction. But it was still okay because they were probably just tired, at least they were still doing what they had to and still explained that we were eligible for free renewal because of min. spend. But after that, our experience went downhill.
We went to the membership area for renewal. We first asked the staff validating the receipt if there was a queue and where we can get a number to line up. They didn't know and weren't responding. Then, we just fell in line and waited for ~10-15mins. We noticed they were entertaining other people. We asked what the process was and was told to get a number (though it was in front, it was not visible at all as it was behind some board. HOWEVER, even when we got our number and followed the process, they still entertained people who cut line and didn't have a queue number. When we asked, they couldn't explain at all. In the end, they still entertained people who had numbers after us. There was a lot of back-and-forth and wishy washy instructions, but they weren't apologetic at all. They wanted SOME people to follow the number system, but still entertained other people who would cut and just line up in front of them. They should put their foot down and just follow ONE system, whatever it is, or else it gets confusing and time-consuming for everyone.
I thought it was just us who experienced this, but once we spoke up, everyone started complaining too "Ito na ata pinakamabagal na renewal ko" "Dapat buwagin na itong team na nandito"
Only after we complained about the queueing (or lack thereof) did they start following the number system and started calling them out in order. However, there was a customer who were a few numbers before us. Because the staff weren't originally calling out the number nor were they actually following the system, that customer obviously didn't know. Then the staff even proceeded to lie and say "Kanina pa po namin yan tinatawag". NO they weren't. They only started calling out after we and everyone else complained (which were a few numbers down the line already)
The process itself was slow also. The person attending to our application didn't know what information they had to put for each field. They were also very slow inputting details into the computer which of course added up to everyone's waiting time.
Also, the whole time that people were airing out their frustrations, they weren't talking to address them and were just giving customers dirty looks instead. I thought people at registration should have basic knowledge on the application form, basic computer skills, and some communication effort.
Even if this store only reopened and maybe lost their experienced staff, they should still take the time to hire people who are fit for the job and make sure there is proper management in place so customers are not confused.
We just wanted to have a peaceful shopping experience... but unfortunately...
Read moreLanders is already known for providing items, both local and imported, not normally found in ordinary supermarkets. They also offer great deals/discounts in their superstore but what makes this particular branch unique is the area where it is located making it the most family oriented branch they have.
Landers Arcovia also has the nicest and cleanest bathroom with an ambiance that is comparable to that of a 4-star hotel. It is not the typical bathroom that you usually find in malls or supermarkets as the cubicles are spacious, with bidets and have solid wood doors for each cubicle.
The back to back lavatories each with its mirror and perfumed hand soap dispenser are located at the center of the bathroom and there is always an abundant supply of toilet paper and paper towels.
Landers Superstore Arcovia is my favorite branch of Landers that I have been to. It is located within the Arcovia City Complex along E. Rodriguez, Jr. Ave. in Pasig which is accessible from main roads like Ortigas Avenue and C5.
The 12.8 hectare complex is being developed by Megaworld with a goal of putting up a high end commercial and residential complex surrounded by landscaped promenades and shady trees (their goal is to plant 1000 trees within the complex) providing a lush and eco-friendly environment for residents and visitors alike.
The area is great for morning or evening exercises like walking, jogging, cycling and even skateboarding as the streets are wide and lined with trees that offers a lot of shade for those who would like to rest for a bit during their chosen activity.
Arcovia City is even pet friendly as you can do all the above activities with your fur babies. You can also gas up at Caltex gas station and get Php 8.00 to 12.00 discount per liter (for gasoline) for Landers Superstore members with coupons.
Landers has its own fastfood and coffee shop within the superstore where you can dine in or order food for take out but a member is limited to being accompanied by 1 companion only within the superstore. Other family members and/or friends can opt to wait and dine at other food establishments like McDonald's, Popeye's etc.
One can also opt to just stroll along the promenade where the most striking landmark you can see is the rotonda with the Arco de Emperador (The Emperor's Arch) monument. On top of this arch is the figure of an Emperor riding his chariot pulled by 3 horses, escorted by 2 lions and with 2 gold angels leading the way. Constantly changing neon lights highlights this structure at night. The arch reminded me so much of the Arc De Triomphe monument in...
Read moreWe typically go this Landers, as it’s nearest our place, and it pretty much has everything from aisles and aisles of grocery foods and home goods locally and internationally, like you would find at an American CostCo warehouse. The place is HUGE yet not stuffy with its signature woodsy and open glass look. We came in this time near closing at 8:30 PM, and we already noticed a long line at the numerous checkouts. We just focused on our gets. The categories of things are well organised together, but sometimes, you would need a bit of help finding where the fish sauce is amidst the ginormous bunch of stuff. Additionally, it’s not like things are bundled together to have an obscene 3 months worth of ketchup that you won’t at all really ever need, they mostly sell items individually or typically packaged deal you would come to expect at any supermarket. It doesn’t feel overwhelming shopping here, and rather efficient and welcoming. The walkways are not crowded as it’s just a massive complex with ample space. It’s a little difficult to find parking once it gets at peak hours but the space is huge. The food here is quite good though - the oversized pizza, pasta and chicken - all pretty swell. The wait can be 30 minutes, but maybe get your order ahead while shopping. After we got the few stuff we needed, the line was still quite long, but as daunting as it appears - it went by fairly quickly as we moved closer and closer within 15 or so minutes. The checkout was really fast too, as that seemed to be the protocol, an employee also bagged things alongside the cashier person, so yes. TBH though, the lines can be quite a lot, a lot of the time. That’s probably its worst flaw, but this time around, it wasn’t too bad - perhaps cause it was about to close, but I digress. I typically have a nice experience going here for my daily needs, especially for more organic or foreign fare, so head on right ahead. The membership isn’t too bad either, P700 yearly, all for some higher quality stuff that you can...
