In fairness, not that inviting on the outside. Looks like a typical filipino restaurant. And from its name , it sounds like a " massage house ", or some place where you could really be "ecstatic" and will give you "lots of pleasure". Also same thoughts with my friends. As you enter the resto house, it really looks creepy. Its dark, looks like an old house, with antique furniture. They have old antique statues , picture frames, old jars, wstches , fans, etc. Its like an old musuem converted into a native restaurant. They serve alcoholic drinks-beer, wine, vodka, etc. However the waitresses dont know how to prepare cocktails. My friend juz went to the bar and taught them- tequila sunrise. Anyway , the ambience is like a barrio fiesta like resto, only its creepy. There were groups of customers on different tables. I noticed 1 group- 3 men 60s to 70s playing madjong! Actually its ok. They're interesting to watch. And it makes the resto unique . One picture frame is battery operated. It moves abd swings by itself coupled with flashing of red light! Well that is really scary! But in the long run i think its cool. At the nackyard they have an al fresco dining. It looks like ab old lanai or veranda with Tables and chairs with umbrellas . Further at the back, there is an enclosed glass atrium which could cater to at least 30pax. It serves as a function room. This area is the outdoor bar /smoking area. Cool but i prefer bars and outdoor seatings which is really modern. Lastly, the food is great! I ordered pakbet tagalog, pork sisig, and sizzling pusit! ...
Read moreWe had the WORST tasting Filipino food here. We ordered the crispy hito, inihaw na liempo, kalabasa and tokwa curry, burong hipon and they all tasted like they were cooked at 11:00am earlier that day and then microwaved at 10:00pm when we ordered.
We could not fathom what was mixed in with the buro but that was NOT buro. It was weird. It did not taste like fermented rice but was more like porridge with vinegar, sinigang mix, and miso paste to make it seems like it was sour from fermentation. But it tasted horrible. The tokwa and kalabasa curry had frozen vegetables tossed in (you know, the carrots, peas, and corn you buy from the frozen section at the supermarket), which was also weird. The hito was tough to chew and was unusually black, probably fried in oil that was already used for frying another hito (frying hito blackens the oil so it should not be reused but seems like they did here). The liempo was also tough, bland, and dry. Everything was unenjoyable and sad. Definitely NOT worth the high prices they were charging.
There were mosquitos everywhere. The lights buzzed noisily. And it was dim inside, like an abandoned house that not even ghosts wanted to hang out in. There were few other tables besides us and they were starting to get buzzed and loud.
The waitresses were pleasant though. But the parking attendant did not seem to know what...
Read moreWe tried this place since our friend was boasting about the food and the ambiance. Sadly walang wow factor. The pork belly didn't taste like pork at all and it wasn't even crispy. The sinigang na salmon didn't have the sour taste. The kuhol with gata lacked taste. The kalderetang kambing is okay but not wow. The best kaldereta is still the one along kamias road. We stayed at the function room 7K I think and it was consumable but it felt like it wasnt worth it. I ordered ensalada na mangga the alamang was terrible at walang halo as in mangga lang. But the beer came in and sub zero sa pagka lamig. We ended up bringing home 75% of what we ordered halos walang kumain at nag karaoke nalang since the contents of the karaoke book is filled with good songs. If you are into old antique places you will like it. The staff are amazing. Yung food lang talaga didn't impress my taste baka cguro it was late at night na when we came. Next time try namen ulit oyher items amd give this...
