TLDR: If you eat here I suggest 3 things: Crispy Beancurd, Coral Fried Rice, and Hot & Sour Soup.
My family and I have been eating at Coral Garden for more than a decade (closer to 2 actually).
The food has tasted the same for as long as I can remember and that is a good thing. Coral Garden is a restaurant that does these staple chinese dishes well that you just keep coming back to. These are the dishes you wish stay the same, as they remind you of the feeling of home cooking and your younger years. If my previous writing has yet to indicate to you that I have some bias towards this place, let me tell you that I really do, and for good reason.
The restaurant has yet to let me down in terms of the quality and quantity of the food. The food has always tasted and came out the same, regardless of if you opt for food delivery or dining in.
My family's go-to dish has always been the Crispy Beancurd, the Fried Rice, and Hot and Sour Soup. We've tried an assorted number of other dishes throughout the years, Coral shrimp, french beans in XO sauce, spicy pork and eggplant, salt and pepper spareribs, etc. I'd say all of the food has been well received by my family and I, but for first timers who like tofu, I urge you to order the Crispy Beancurd. I have yet to eat in another establishment that serves a dish like this, and I tend to order tofu in every Chinese restaurant I go to. The fried rice is also excellent and the hot and sour soup is one of the better ones...

Ordering strategy when I went was to order anything with “Coral” in the name. Fortunately it worked. Although we got the salted fish fried rice as opposed to the coral fried rice. I enjoyed the Hot and Sour soup the most. It was properly spiced. The crispy beancurd was tasty but I would have enjoyed it more had we been more people as I ended up having to eat half of it myself. Moreover, the white Gulaman was tasty and the Gulaman or Gelatin was very generous. I found that it would have been better to mix it while drinking as there is a lot of syrup at the bottom. The Coral Shrimp was a bit of a miss but thats okay, maybe I just came off a high of Japanese Tempura the day before I went. The Coral Beef was tasty - the Brocolli to Beef ratio was strong value for money and the beef was cooked...
Read moreSharp decline in food taste and quality. Turo turo food for fine dining prices. Musty smell inside the restaurant. Staff are mostly decades old with the establishment but not very friendly. Can pass on this unless you are there for the nostalgia.
Misua too salty Coral supreme too bland and oily Oyster cake where are the oysters Coral shrimp too thick breading to thin shrimps Cua pao passable not excellent but acceptable (better and cheaper at hen lin) Crispy bean curd now so thick and small to save on crispy breading. Tastes almost the same.
For the price of the meal, can afford suckling pig and mashed wintermelon dried scallop soup...
