Passenger Seat - SM City San Mateo — Restaurant in Rizal

Passenger Seat Restaurant has been a go-to dining spot for many, including my family, for its good food and unique ambiance. However, during our recent visit, we noticed several issues that dampened the experience.

The food remains flavorful, but the portions of some viands have noticeably decreased. Additionally, the lemon iced tea tasted quite diluted, which was disappointing for a beverage we used to enjoy.

The restaurant's ambiance also needs attention. Many chairs' upholstery are worn out and need repair, and several tables are unstable and shaky, which made dining uncomfortable. The wooden trays used for their popular "boodle" servings are mostly in poor condition, with many decapitated and clearly overdue for replacement.

It’s clear that the management must address these concerns soon to maintain their reputation and customer base. While the food still has potential, these shortcomings affected our overall experience. I hope they prioritize these repairs and improvements. Unfortunately, our last visit left us a bit...

First, the food the tasted good, I will give them that. The place is clean and the ambiance is welcoming. Unfortunately service was clearly lacking. They have provided a buzzer on the table to call on staff, but it seems none of them take notice. Only two of the staff were visible waiting on customers on our 1 hour wait for the food's arrival. This is concerning because we had a different server initially, but it seems she went on a break (i saw her with a colleague chatting at the back). I would understand if they were just taking a break, but we were there at 6:30, the prime time for customers to come in. Worse, this is a Sunday, when a mall-located restaurant is busy. It's genuinely baffling for a restaurant. Management has a lot of work to work on.

PS. We ordered another meal for takeout. It arrived on a plastic plate covered with foil. While we appreciate that it's sealed for freshness, no additional packaging, like a paper or plastic bag was provided. Bringing it home sure was awkward...

Their solo boodle fight bundles are worth the money. They taste good and provide enough food for one hungry person. The ambiance of course is an attention-grabber. It’s cool to take photos inside. The seat cushions are actually comfortable.

I gave the place one less star because there were drops of water coming from the air conditioning unit. Also, there was a fly I had to kill. Not on the food though. Also, some of the tables had buttons to call the servers. Some didn’t. There are some obvious disadvantages. The serving time was also longer...
