If you are looking for a good pizza, this is the place to go. The pizza is made in front of you in an open kitchen with stone oven. I went for the GRANDE 13”, and believe me I am a good eater, but I couldn’t finish it🤣. The second dish is the Wood Fire Ribs, a recommendation of our service team which we didn’t regret. We went for SHARE size good for 2. The ribs are tender juicy with an honey glaze, fresh veggies and rice. We got some steak knife for the ribs, but you only need a fork to slice into the meat😍. 3 big ribs are too much for one, take out for dinner. What I personally liked most is deep frozen, iced, beer mug and the ice cold SMB as well the ice cold bottle of water.🍺🍺🍺 If you like your dish more chili hot🌶️ the restaurant offers on each table a selection of chili oil, chili honey and dried chili flakes. We tried all and found the chili flakes are the hottest 🌶️🌶️🌶️. The service is very good, attentive and friendly. Unfortunately the restaurant is no longer located on the beach side, so a lunch/dinner with view is missing😥 The only downside we found is that the management allows customer in swim and bathing suite access to the restaurant. We found it very disturbing and inappropriate to sit next to a table of customer coming in right from the beach, at the end it is still a restaurant and NOT a beach both😡. Nevertheless we grant 5🌟 and hope that management establishes a “basic” dress code to enter the...
Read moreIt was the Saturday of a long weekend we decided to spend in La Union. One of our friends craved pasta, so another friend suggested Amare.
We arrived around 2 pm to have late lunch, and were seated promptly by courteous staff. When we arrived, we got a bit more than we expected: an Italian resto just beside a resort with Greece/Mamma Mia feels! The place felt like a bite of Europe in LU. 😄
We ordered: Mozzarella sticks Insalata di gamberoni Alvin’s pizza (pesto, bacon, mozzarella, parmigiano-reggiano) Frutti di mare pasta Pasta al arrabiata
Everything was good! Serving sizes were just right for sharing (but if you don’t like to share, I’m sure that’s okay, too). By the time we were full (there were five of us), we had a little pasta and a slice of pizza left. We asked the staff to have those wrapped, and my friends ate our leftovers that evening.
Overall, a nice place with good food, reasonable prices, and attentive staff. We’ll likely eat again at Amare when we go...
Read moreThey served BANGAW in their water bottle. We unknowingly drank in the water with the bangaw and one of us was able to spit it out! This restaurant’s manager, MARIA ZITA LIBAN was inaccessible to address the issue. Bottled water was offered instead. We refused this. We just drank our own bottled water and water jugs from our vehicles. They wasted our time trying to contact their manager, leaving us to wait for about an hour. I went to follow up instead. Their staff Alessa Diamoy, went ahead and billed us 2,813. She took out 185 pesos service charge from our original bill. I HATE this restaurant and the whole dining experience. LOUSY!!! Happy New Year sana.
Update: While on our drive back to Manila. Alessa Diamoy called us apologize again and offered to refund the whole amount. They sent...
